One of my teachers is going (Biblically) crazy on Facebook.

So I log onto Facebook earlier, and I see this huge message plastered on my wall:

I wanted to personally invite you to an event we're having in Zanesville at Secrest Auditorium on April 9th and 10th. This is a $30,000 event that we are putting on for teenagers, college students and anyone else. IT IS ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD. Don't let that scare you away....you will find out a lot of things  you will not hear anywhere else. We will have bands, speakers, free stuff, a lot of merchandise for sale....the doors open Friday night, April 9th at 6pm and the event goes from 7-10pm....the event will resume Saturday, April 10th - the doors will open at 9:30am and the event will go from 10am to 9pm with scheduled lunch and dinner breaks. I have called all of the superintendents of our school systems and asked them not to have a make-up day due to snow on that saturday...and they agreed! Please invite all your friends and get the word out! Colleges and Universities are invited as well. Cancel all your plans and make sure YOU can be there...it is THAT important! An event like this for the weekend typically costs $70.00 - BUT we are asking $20-$25 for the entire weekend...you will receive a silver wristband ticket that will admit u all weekend long! The text made it seems like a cult but the bit of the video I watched (half of it then I got bored) makes it seem more like just a rock concert. Either way its worrying, it might be worth going with a camera so you can tell people what it actually is, but there does seem to be a chance youll end being forced to commit suicide lol

Run far, far away. I had to go to shit like this when my parents made me get confirmed (my church had a very 'progressive' Sunday school program). It's all fun and games (not really, turn of phrase) until they break out the acoustic guitars and start "Really talking about how Jesus changed my life."

If you listen to the message it's actually not bad for high school kids to hear. Self-respect and realizing your self-worth sound like good things to me. Also, I hope you go to private school, because if not, that's completely inappropriate.

LMAO your teacher wants to tell you about the end of the world, but you're gonna have to pay a small fee for that information. But at least you get a silver wristband!

That's more than a little unsettling. If you go to a public school it wouldn't hurt to bring that up to the administration and your parents. Christian extremists are always looking for ways to get their beliefs taught at public schools, without even considering the beliefs of other religious groups, and of course, atheists. 

Contact the ACLU about the collusion between her and the school regarding religious activities.
