Opinion on Facebook panel on front page?

It's not abnormal that it's there, and it doesn't affect me. I "liked" it long ago so doesn't really matter to me.

If it brings them more attention, then I'm all for it.

I didn't even notice it until people started to point it out. Did that just show up or has it been there a little while?

Just realised that GB now has one of those generic Facebook profile pic boxes plastered on its front page. 

What's the point is what I say? They're obnoxious. Get that shit off the front page.

Also for the record, I am opposed to all change. Seriously though, whatever... I'd rather it not be there so I don't have to see a bunch of people's dumb pictures, but its sort of wasted space right now anyways so I guess its fine.

Seems fine to me. Never noticed it until you pointed it out, which I'll likely forget about again later on.

Don't care about it existing on the page, but it shouldn't take priority over the status updates section. A lot of the front page could use some reorganizing.

Doesn't matter to me. It may be a hard fact to accept for some but Facebook is THE place where sites go to get exposure.

I'll likely give options to not display this kind of stuff, but honestly, it's something I just can't avoid anymore. I don't use facebook myself, but until it stops being so god damned powerful I don't have much choice if I want our sites to be seen by more people.

Never been a fan a Facebook, and I very much do not like those panels.  Like buttons?  Fine, but not the "Like Panel".  It's big and annoying.  Hopefully Dave gets those disable options up soon.  'Til then, thank goodness for Adblock Plus.

If it helps them out, I don't care. It's not like it's getting in the way of my enjoying their content or anything. I think it looks fine and is integrated into the site design well enough. Plus, I get to see how ugly some of your mugs are.

Haha I just tweeted my distaste of it to the whiskeymedia account and scrolled down to see if there was a forum post about it.
I'm 100% about spreading the Giantbomb love to as many people as possible, but before the site started doing any member stuff Dave and Jeff expressed their specific distaste in having any facebook material in any prominent way, which I was happy about because it's something that I find a little distasteful only because how many sites put such an emphasis on that sort of thing.

My point is simply this, I think its great to have facebook connectivity to spread the word but I just wouldn't like it to be featured on the front page; but if Dave or the other guys produce some numbers showing that it greatly increases the number of GB "likes" or site traffic as a result, I would be in full support of it.

This being the one and only site that I actually pay money for, I care about it and like to voice my opinions and am always in favor of getting GB and the whiskey media family of sites out there.

I like the like counter, plus it's less annoying than the footer.

How about we make a deal Whiskey Media? If I like the facebook pages, make the dumb picture facebook thing removable, but only as long as I like the facebook pages.

Indifferent to the max. Facebook is a generally helpful tool for me to keep all of my updated stuff in one place, but I'm always on GB so often that I never miss anything anywhoo :P
