I liked it years ago, so it should piss off.
Also for the record, I am opposed to all change. Seriously though, whatever... I'd rather it not be there so I don't have to see a bunch of people's dumb pictures, but its sort of wasted space right now anyways so I guess its fine.
" @McGhee_the_Insomniac said:I just noticed Snide's twitter where he said, " Think I'm going for a night time deploy record tonight. All in the name of socialneccessbit.ly"" I didn't even notice it until people started to point it out. Did that just show up or has it been there a little while? "It's only just shown up for me. So it's new for me. "
To quote Mah Boi Nintendoeats from the thread I MADE FIRST,
" To quote Myself in Kyreo's thread:"
I'll likely give options to not display this kind of stuff, but honestly, it's something I just can't avoid anymore. I don't use facebook myself, but until it stops being so god damned powerful I don't have much choice if I want our sites to be seen by more people.
" I don't use Facebook, so it doesn't really matter, though I honestly don't see the purpose of the panel. Links to random users' Facebook profiles? "Shows people that "Like" Giant Bomb on Facebook and encourages you to do the same. Which shows up on your profile, which ideally will inspire your Facebook friends to investigate the site and "Like" it themselves. It's pretty much a common sight on mainstream sites these days.
Haha I just tweeted my distaste of it to the whiskeymedia account and scrolled down to see if there was a forum post about it.
I'm 100% about spreading the Giantbomb love to as many people as possible, but before the site started doing any member stuff Dave and Jeff expressed their specific distaste in having any facebook material in any prominent way, which I was happy about because it's something that I find a little distasteful only because how many sites put such an emphasis on that sort of thing.
My point is simply this, I think its great to have facebook connectivity to spread the word but I just wouldn't like it to be featured on the front page; but if Dave or the other guys produce some numbers showing that it greatly increases the number of GB "likes" or site traffic as a result, I would be in full support of it.
This being the one and only site that I actually pay money for, I care about it and like to voice my opinions and am always in favor of getting GB and the whiskey media family of sites out there.
The like button stuff is fine, and I understand that it gets more eyes on articles and such, but I don't get the point of the front page thing. I don't feel like it fits in right aesthetically either.

When I saw it, it really made me feel really indifferent.
