Hello to all. Iam currently watching the news on my local t.v. station. They are going on about world events . And also a local news segment. Its allways the same . Depression after you watch it . My question is should you watch the news and feel like your staying informed or being brain washed? Or go the way of seclusion and stay true to your own compass and not pay attention which could be your own undoing. But any way sometimes you should seperate yourshelf from the internet and t.v. and enjoy what we have.Again the main question is should we pay attention or play the role of being ignorant... I battle with this all the time im a news junkie......73ssssssssssssssssss
Just watch it for information and dont listen to anything else. Try come up with an opionion on the subject yourself then see how similar it is to the newses. Why am I responding to you.............
I watch enough news to know what's happening but I am decensortised from the 'this child got murdered' or ' a man locks baby in closet for 3 years' new stories to the point where I don't care whatsoever about these people. I just sort out what's important to me or my family and then listen and remember that infomation.
I stopped paying attention to news because too much of it seems to be opinionated beyond belief. The only doods I trust are my local CBS station, as they never get into opinions and simply report the facts. Plus, Gordon Collier is the shit!!!
Local news is usually pretty decent at reporting facts, better than any cable news or 'news magazine' shows like Dateline or such.
PBS probably has the best coverage. Shows like Frontline or Charlie Rose blow away anything you'll see on the networks like NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, or Fox News...
i don't watch the news to much. i just know what is happening that is important. something like how michael jackson's funeral was yesterday, something that sticks out then a man robbed at gun point. u know what i mean, something major.
I don't watch the news as much as I used to. Mostly I just listen to talk back radio which is the most opinionated shit on the planet. I am okay with it though in that case, because at least in the case of the station I listen to they generally just tell you the news story then then the presentor might go into their opinion before letting callers through. I can handle opinion if they are open about and allow other opinions to be shared. What I hate is when they try to sneak opinion into a factual statement as is the case with television.
