Pogo is the superior term. I feel that corn dog is too lengthy, and should be stricken from language completely.

Corn dog:

I should mention that the page on Giant Bomb is called "Corn dog"
Pogo:

A pogo is an object you jump on. A corn dog is something you eat. Silly Canadian!

People actually call a corn dog a pogo or am I just misinterpreting the question?

#6 Edited by DanielJW (4915 posts) -

I have honestly in my life never heard it called a corn dog in a serious manner, it's always been Pogo. Whenever I hear someone say corn dog their mocking someone.

They are called "Pogos" in Canada because that is a popular brand name.

They are still corn dogs.

I've never heard it called a pogo, serious or not. Actually I've never heard the word pogo without it being followed by the word stick until this thread.

Never heard anyone call it a pogo. Interesting.

#20 Posted by zonerover (584 posts) -

Never heard the word 'Pogo' in this context ever - maybe its part of the American vernacular? Internationally, I'm pretty sure we call them Corn Dogs. On the other hand, if I asked the Giant Bomb international audience what a Chicko Roll was, I'm sure nobody would know. Therefore:

American Readers: Pogo is the superior term.
Non-American Readers: Corn Dog is the superior term.
Martians: Screw you and your alien terms!

#21 Edited by DanielJW (4915 posts) -
@zonerover: Apparently it's exclusively Canadian, given I'm Canadian and nobody knows what the hell I'm talking about.

Never heard it called a pogo.

#23 Posted by zonerover (584 posts) -

Just heard news that Pogo is a Canadian term - I should have known. Therefore:

Canadian Readers: Pogo is the superior term.
Non-Canadian Readers: Corn Dog is the superior term.
Martians: I still say screw you and your alien terms!

I believe "Pogo" is a particular brand of corn dog.

That being said, corn dog is the correct term.

#33 Posted by MetalGearSunny (6988 posts) -
@sam_i_am: The quality of the name Pogo is much less than of the Corn Dog.
#34 Posted by sam_i_am (129 posts) -
@Metal_Gear_Sunny: I was referring to the superior quality of Canadians in general as opposed to Americans. However, you are again wrong, silly boy, pogos is a much better term.
#35 Posted by MetalGearSunny (6988 posts) -
@sam_i_am: Damn it, you got me there. Canadians are awesome.
