Hey there duders. I'm wondering which staff member you guys feel you can relate to the most (and who you relate to the least, if you feel like it). Not just in terms of games, but also personality and other hobbies. Personally, I find Brad to be the one whom I can identify with. We basically play all the same games, and seem to enjoy the same type of gaming experiences. It's heart warming to see another person who enjoys ME3 (and the entire series) the same way that I do. Also, Star Trek.
To a degree, I can also relate to Jeff. His views on different gaming trends (on-disc dlc, project 10 dollar, etc. and his enthusiasm over the preservation of games are both things that I value a lot. In certain aspects, I find that I also can relate to Ryan, Vinny, Drew and Dave. Because they are motherfucking kings.
The two guys I feel I can't relate to at all is Patrick and Alex. We have very different views on basically everything. Check that, I guess we all have a passion for writing.
Another one of these?
Don't cry Alex. People don't know you yet.
Vinny, because i too play in a very obsessive/completionist way for myself and when playing with friends or whatever just go nuts (like he does during live stream and quick looks) and feel free to do the kind of insanity i would never do in my "real" save.
Unpopular answer but I picked Alex. I've walked through a good chunk of my adult life thinking nobody could match my snark, and then he came along...
Nah but really, he and I agree on a lot of things and come to the same conclusions. It was the same way with Screened and movies. S'why he was the only "critic" or reviewer I actually paid attention to.
I'm guessing there's a fair amount of selection bias at play, in that some of the picks and this poll are in a "wouldn't be in a club that will have me as a member" relationship.
BUT, but, since I'm here... Ryan is a man driven by common sense, and I can appreciate that, and Patrick, despite sometimes being a bit shallow about his interests regarding artistry in games, is earnest about it and actively seeks to learn about it.
Aaand those are the two guys with the least votes, which goes back to my selection bias theory and the fact that this is a tired, often repeated poll that most people won't even bother opening.

@Animasta: I think you're right. Vinny is a lovable goof, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
no, literally, if it is a poll about ANYTHING positive, Vinny will win.
anything negative, patrick will win.
people actually thought Vinny was a better comedian than Jeff (I mean I think he's funny certainly but he's no comedian)
I find I often agree with Ryan's opinions about games, and I'm kind of a dick to my friends in the same way that he is. Weird that he's so much lower than everyone else, anybody have any idea why that is?
I probably relate the least to Patrick because I just hate horror, rarely play the weird indie games I buy, and need more than an interesting mechanic or two to get hooked on a game, we do find common ground on platformers though.
Vinny is less than a God but more than a man.

Brad, because I know how it feels to fail.
this
also patrick cause i can get analytical and highly opinionated about things alot of the time :)
Vinny just wants to have fun playing games and spread that fun to other people. That's something I can relate to!
Vinny, because his story is the all-story, reflective of man's true experience. Everybody else is just fucked in the head.
what. what am I saying. Giant Bomb dot com.
Drew I think, I'm not sure really. Of course Vinny is going to win though, everybody loves Vinny!

Brad, with a little bit of Patrick.
That's the recipe for manlove brownies.
Vinny, because of the kid in me that refuses to go away. That's not a bad thing.
Was gonna say some combination of Jeff and someone else, but ultimately Vinny because in the "whatcha been playing" segments he often tells of how he gets bored with or quits games, which I do if I'm not having fun with them, but he can also be obsessive with games, which I end up doing too.
I most identify with Alex and his thoughts/taste on movies, music and games. Though Vinny is the GB staffer who I probably like the most.
I fall somewhere in between a Ryan & a Vinny.
Brad with a bit of Dave mixed in.
Vinny because his optimism when it comes to games. He won't deny a game's faults, but has no problem fully enjoying a game for what it does right.
Ryan seems pretty casual unlike Brad and Vinny who feel the need to do everything. Jeff is a little too critical of games. Dave plays completely different games from me. Drew is far more hard working and when he finds and interest, he really gets into it.
Ryan seemed like the best choice in this case. I feel like I enjoy some games more than him. He seems a little more indifferent than I but I identify with him the most.
My favourite is Jeff though
I go back and forth a lot. Generally speaking, I'd say I have the highest respect for Jeff, but he often sees things in games that I just can't see.
i have no interest in "relating" to any of the people on this site. i watch videos here, listen to podcasts and read articles/reviews in order to be entertained and informed about games. i couldn't possibly care less if I have anything in common with any of the guys. In fact, i find this whole poll/thread to be really, really sad in many ways.
I probably relate the most to Drew. He seems to be the most willing to try anything, and I love messing about with a ton of different sims. Alex is also pretty similar, though I know nothing about wrestling or sports, so he falls out to Drew. Dave would be the one I relate least to, though I always find the games he plays really interesting to watch. It mostly comes down to him playing very complex games like Crusaders Kings II and Dwarf Fortress, which while I'd never want to sink the time into to learn to play properly and are generally paced a little too slowly for me, I find he's really good at making them fun to watch. Vinny is also pretty similar for always wanting full context for games and playing the entire series of a game, but I wouldn't ever go out of my way to read a video game related novel.
I'm going team brad on this in terms of personality,
a bit of jeff on that video game collection (I have a shelf full of ghetto video game boxes),
a bit of dave in all that PC'ness and also I spent 187 hours on mount & blade :S,
a bit of vinny in wandering off to do side quests as soon as an open world opens up to me, and just generally goofing off in games
otherwise I don't really relate to the others, don't really play flight sims or scary games
