Post your old desktop?

I was looking through all my old photos on my hard drive and came across one of my desktop from 2007. For some reason i thought it would be neat to see other peoples old photos if you have any of desktops :x It's a interesting little time capsule. Shows what i was into around that time. Dumb idea? Maybe.

Aw man, I really miss Windows XP sometimes.

My photo is a bit more recent. And also really blurry. From either 2009 or 2010, about a year or so before I built my first gaming rig. Doesn't quite hit the nostalgia factor quite as much for me, unfortunately.

I had to go digging in my photobucket account of all things for this and damn, it explains a lot about middle school me. I assume this was around 2008, and the McAfee and AOL icons were my mom's doing. As you can clearly see, I had better taste and used Internet Explorer to browse deviantart. I was a very classy anime-loving teenage girl.

Edit: my current desktop is the k-pop group Rainbow so I haven't changed THAT much, aesthetic-wise.

I don't have anything like this floating around. I didn't actually have my own computer until 2008 or so, in high school, and that one was old. I can't for the life of me remember what I used as the background, I think I just put Ubuntu on it and never changed the background. I was too busy fucking around with Linux.

We haven't even had a current wallpaper thread in a long time, actually. I'd like to see one, I need to steal some wallpapers.

Bonus points for knowing just what the hell it's referencing. Seriously, it was a joke desktop that I set at the time which ended up being kept for months.

From 2005, it was a developer chat on Xfire (wow memories) for Call of Duty 2. Not showing the whole desktop but only one I could find!

Come with me, back to 2001...

I don't have a screenshot of my actual desktop, sadly, but I'm pretty sure I had this one as a wallpaper from around 2002 to 2006 (it's from a german punk band that I was way into back then)

It's been this for like 10 years. No reason to change!

I think I used variation of this character in FF for my desktop.

@csl316: you could change it to a higher resolution of that photo you wierdo.

It turns out I have a bunch of these. I think I had windows Me for the metal slug one.

Found the oldest one I still have. From June 17, 2009. So elegant and organized. LimeWire. Also 1366x768 was a hard resolution to find backgrounds for, I remember.

That was never really a thing for me. I just used my desktop as a tool. for me it was mostly about crazy nested folders.

But yeah I don't have any screen shots.

My desktops have always been pretty much the same, 0 icons and some nice looking vista or the orion nebula.

Ugh. Dug this up on a really old Photobucket account, based on the pictures surrounding it this would've been somewhere around 2005 or 2006 so 13 years to 14 years old at the time.

This was probably around 2006/2007 and it's terrible!

I've only ever used default backgrounds with no shortcuts.
