Yo

I searched but didnt find any good thread for us who make music. So, I thought I would create one for us to show of our creations! Dont be shy. Post whatever you have made! Remixes, classical, rock, whatever.

I make some mixed electronic shit. Ambient/triphop like.

Here is some songs from a group I had together with two other people some years back. Diabase Collective. We made some triphop/pop songs or whatever you want to call it. pretty mixed bag. They are from around 2001. They are not the best quality since we didnt use any fancy studio heh.

I support this thread, posting here so I can find later and post my music that's not yet complete

#3 Posted by Azteck (7449 posts) -

This thread could be interesting. I wish I could make music myself, but alas, I'm not talented enough. Or I just haven't tried. Could be any of those two.

Will check some of it out.

@Azteck:  Just get a music program like FL-Studio and start pulling the strings, play around. Atleast its a good program to start of everything. I cant play ANY instrumments at all. I just compose on my computer. I have no tallent for playing instruments or reading notes. But I have the music ear. You might have it too! ;D

I have loads of unfinished bits and pieces. I'll have a look through them when I get back home. I haven't thought about music for about 5 years now, since I started working nights. Would be nice to get back into it again.

I have some stuff that I'll get up on here soon. Give me time!

Awesome art AND music? The only user here that I know creates music is Hamst3r. Well, and Jeff of course.

Consider checking out the information I posted in the APB Video Podcast and Information Thread about getting your music in the upcoming game.

I support this thread as well.

I should totally make some music now.

Love it! Posting work in progress things would also be awsome.  To get other peoples opinions.

@Origina1Penguin:

Cool! Il check it out. Also, listened to some of Hamst3rs stuff and... damn!  Tallented dude indeed. *Puts tracks on Ipod*

@madsoul: He also put out an Indie Game on the XBL Marketplace. GB did a quick look of some indie games and that's one of them. I didn't buy it because the time limit on the trial is always up before I can even listen to all the sample loops, but you might like it.

I'd post some stuff sadly I'm unable to do so at the moment.  My recording software expired so I'm without that.  On top of that my keyboard power cord decided to break so unless I buy six D batteries I'm without that as well.  I do play music though, and I like writing music.  I can post some stuff that friends of mine have done in the mean time.

Here is my very good friend Rachel playing violin for a cover(Owen, Breaking Away) during an open mic night with her new boyfriend Logan.

Here is a band with several friends of mine in it.  I originally met these guys through Dan(who I met through work).  Dan would be on bass and backup vocals and wearing the Blackhawks jersey.  Not really my style of music but I totally support them doing their thing, I've gone to a ton of their shows and help them setup.
I can't embed the video from Facebook so I linkey-dinked it.
Also their MySpace page if you'd like to hear more of their music.

I pretty much love music and making music, and so do most of my friends so their are others.  I'll save that for later though.

Forgot to post some crappy crappy seriously crappy recorded material from a little theatre/concert my band Diabase Collective did in a local theatre where I live.  We played one song and after that a theatre act based on the same theme as in the lyrics, then the next song etc. The theatre acts are in Swedish heh. And as I said, it sounds really awful with the crappy camera it was recorded. Imagine it alot better please! :P

I wish
Follow me. I always post stuff about my music, even though there are usually no people reading my posts haha

and there are actually two of our songs that arent even posted on the site
Which pisses me off because they are the two that were my favourite to perform

I'm still learning the keyboard and going to brush up on the drums but I can make some remixes in Garage band, I'll post them when I make them.

Should I upload the three Half-Life 2 based albums I made using Rockstar's Beaterator?

#32 Posted by fisher81 (535 posts) -

I've written nine songs and am in the process of recording them. I'm trying to find a way for it to not sound like shit while using a rock band mic and audacity. Any tips?

Also, when I'm done with these songs, I plan to record a Midnight Brown acoustic tribute album. FFF, In Panama, and Too Hot are on the list so far. Any recommendations?

@fisher81:
Get a better mic and recording program.
Audacity is good for rough takes but nothing more in my opinion.
Cubase is very good and get an acoustic condenser mic

I'm sure your recorded songs are going to be awesome, but I must profess that you have gotten me very excited about the fact that you plan to do a Midnight Brown acoustic album. Please make sure you do some variation of Let's Do It (Undercover). It's my favorite Midnight Brown song, and I'm desperate for some sort of an instrumental, even if played on a guitar or something similar.

Hmmm, could be risky. Okay, but don't download, I have bandwidth restrictions. They can be streamed. Let's keep it civilized and just say it's "interesting" if you don't like it like everyone else.

I tweak them sometimes, so what you hear may not be the same later.
#37 Posted by fisher81 (535 posts) -

@ZanzibarBreeze:    "Let's Do It (Undercover) "   is one of my favorites as well. I'll add it to the list.

@MatPaget:  I'll look in to Cubase sometime tomorrow. Is it free? Also, I have a Behringer Condenser Mic , but I dont have a mixer for it.

#38 Posted by MatPaget (1112 posts) -
@fisher81: Cubase is not legally free
But as long as you`re not making money off the music you record with it, then I see no problem.

I also support this topic and this is a music video that I created with my own music (it's a joke) which you can find when the credits is playing. It's not the full version cause my friend and I still need to edit the song.

#40 Posted by fisher81 (535 posts) -
@MatPaget: Nope. I even bought a domain just so I could do a midnightbrown.com -esque thing of "Yo. Take it."

@madsoul: I don't know if someone already suggested it, but you should check out SoundCloud for putting your music on the internet.
Also, I'm not a music maker, but a good friend of mine has put out some spectacular ambient/electronic/post-rock, check him out: the Picturesque Episodes.

and since I might be asked why its so different from the other songs: Demo V2 is for Me and my Friend's Electrorock band.
All my stuff is made in FL Studio. I'd like to think i'm better than Souljia boy at it.
