So it turns out I have a shit load of tests tomorrow and have not studied for any of them yet. I've been procrastinating so it looks like I'm pulling in all nighter.  Any advice?

Do not pull all nighter. It only makes it worse. Sorry, but you should have studied. Just skim and sleep.

Dude I've been sick all day. I slept to 1 PM so I think I'll be able to manage. But like are there any methods to staying up longer without being tired?

Research shows that you retain less when you do something like that. Just sleep and then cram right before the test. Other than that, study then take a 10 minute break, you retain more information that way.

If you must pull an all nighter, Don't study in bed, take breaks, keep hydrated, and I would not recommend energy drinks, you just crash during the exams. Read a majority of the material, then write stuff down. Right before the exam, go over the stuff again.

Try reading chapter summaries if you can, they contain 90% of the information in 10% of the space. Also reserve about 2 hours of sleep before you write the test, that way it'll feel like you had half a night of sleep rather than no sleep (and won't end up snoozing during your tests...or having a nervous breakdown).

Im pretty experienced at pulling all nighters, but the only advice i have for you is to avoid pulling an all nighter in the first place. Your brain doesnt retain as much information when your tired, it just makes everything much harder to do. Also avoid energy drinks, since your body and brain are so tired, the energy drink only lasts half the time it usually does and its followed by a hard crash. If you absolutely must though, drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated, coffee or anything that is high in caffeene but low in sugar.

You might also want to check out those energy shots, the 5 hour energy ones or w/e their called. One time i took two of them in the morning after pulling an all nighter and it was as if i got a full nights sleep.

Adderall, or some other amphetamine. FYI, it will make your heart beat about twenty extra times per Minette so make sure you don't have any heart problems or you could give yourself a heart attack.

I have a prescription for Adderall, so it's easy for me. By the way alex murphy, I don't think that 20 extra times thing is accurate. But maybe that's because I've been taking it since 8th grade and I'm now a freshmen in college. Go put on a pot of coffee, and drink it.

Or just start your studying further in the future so you don't have to get everything done in one night....

I ended up not pulling an all nighter and get 100s on both the tests I took today. I asked to see the grade. I just studied for 20 minutes in the morning. xD I stress to much.

Sometimes for tests if you just take a quick look at notes or other things it is better than studying for a long time, well that is what Attack of the Show said at least on one of their segments

Well done.

I always found studying just before exams was worse for me. I just accepted that I hadn't studied enough (which I never did) and had a good night's sleep.

I saw that after I replied. But, still, WoW is an excellent way to pull an all nighter. =P

This may work in 9th grade, but don't start making this into a habit.  It'll kill you in college, trust me.

Yeah I agree. I really need to stop procrastinating. I'm in 11th grade and I'm going to college soon so I better hurry up and change my habits.

A week is abnormal to me without a few all nighters.
Dont say "ill just rest my eyes, or lay my head down for a few seconds" cus next thing u know, you will wake up at 4pm with tv xbox and computer still on.
Drink Coffee, and tea, doesnt matter which, they both have pretty much the same caffiene.
And/or red bull or other similar energy drinks.

Dont put yourself in a position where u have nothin to do.
Dont fall asleep right after studying, when u wake up, you'll remember fuck all of it.

Not a good tip. I have observed (not on myself) that speed, altough it keeps you awake, makes it really hard to focus on something. Especially when you were awake all night. How did your tests go Wolverine?

well, i can focus on things fine.
i was always tired and wanted to get some low grade legal speed. so i talked to my doctor and made shit up about how i can't focus and have adhd add watev
he game me some ritalin which is a stimulant that works like speed and cocaine, i only use it when i am REALLY fuckin dead tired.

but i built up an immunity to it and took way more than my initial prescribed doseage, i went back to the doctors and complained about it not working as well
he gave me a shit ton of the stuff, and when i have 50-80mg of it TRUST ME your fuckin wired off that shit, and can focus really nice

I've probably pulled 10-15 all nighters this year. I recommend 5 Hour Energy, Arizona Green Tea (99 cents for a can), and Red Bull.

I snorted Adderall lines before one exam last semester and DO NOT recommend it. Stick to caffeine.

I don't recommend doing all-nighters, from past experiences, my eyes go bat-shit insane and start seeing things from a different perspective. I will normally pass out early the next morning (6AM), and will not wake up for awhile. It sucks.

Yeah, sleeping basically cements everything you've learned so cramming all night before a test is normally a bad idea since you'll retain that information for about an hour and then lose it. However, as so many other people here have already said: adderall, red bull, and whatever else you can substitute would work well for an all nighter. Psychostimulants like adderall are basically safe so no real need to worry about it. Whoever said that thing about the increase in heart rate, it does happen rarely so be aware of that. Normally though, you'll just see the basic side effects. Insomnia, loss of appetite, mood swings, nothing too bad.

Put the book to your head and sleep on it. Learn through Osmoses :P

Seriously though, All nighters don't work all that well.
