What non-metalcore bands are your favorites:

 
mine would have to be Minus the Bear, Incubus, Tenacious D, Protest the Hero, Cake, Bloodhound Gang, and every now and then falloutboy.

Avenged Sevenfold. 
 
Although some consider them metalcore. Certainly their old stuff. But City of Evil and their newer album are my two favorite albums of all time.

portugal the man, the dodos, minus the bear (hometown!) ay kay and his weathered underground, too many metal bands to name. converge, nappy roots, wu tang, del the funky homosapien, circa survive, and many more

Van Morrison, Dave Matthews Band, Led Zeppelin, and The Offspring. 
 
@Ryax: @Disengage: Protest The Hero is far more prog and technical than they are metalcore.  Metalcore is stuff like As I Lay Dying, Darkest Hour, etc.

technically it is mathcore
