For me, rock forever. With that said though, I am starting to get into rap.

I really hate comparing rap and rock. They're completely different, and I personally love them both. I don't see why people always pick them out. Where's my folk VS Electronica?

Rock - I like my music to have a rhythm, which I can't seem to find in rap music, to me, it all sounds the same.
That's not to say rap fans may not think exactly the same thing about rock music - that's the nature of music taste I guess - you can't compare them directly.

Rock. There's a lot of alternative/underground hip-hop which I like a lot, but there just isn't enough of it or with enough variety to stand up against rock.

TBH i dont own rap or anything, but i like some songs i hear at clubs and stuff

It's the history of music, and 90% of what you hear today would not exist without rock!

I like both in equal measures. Although the comparison is kinda arbitrary. It's like comparing ketchup to air conditioning, as opposed to coca-cola to pepsi. Rap and rock rarely, if ever, share the same key concepts and structure.

Rap/Hip-Hop. I'm much more towards old or underground ones. The mainstream is crap (lil wayne, soulja boy, etc).

Rock all the way!
Rap is just PC generated sounds, while Rock/Metal requires real skill

I loved rap when I was 13. I was also an idiot when I was 13. Not suggesting that rap is for idiots, but for me rock gets the vote by a wide WIDE margin.

Well i though Rock had won this one but hey there is NO GOOD ROCK MUSIC ATM. Being in the UK I am not into what the music scene is offering I hate Indie and the pretences that go with it. I love both Hip Hop and Rock.

I perfer heavy metal. So I guess I would say rock. But I do like Public Enemy and Run DMC.

ROCK forever!!

The only rap song I ever liked, and you all will laugh at me, was Knuckles rap from Sonic Adventure :D :p

What style of music did Tupac's "California Love" fall under? rap? hip-hop?
