Recommend some manga?

also Bambie and her Pink Gun based on your description reminds me of PSG. I will have to look it up in case I find it interesting.

My favorite right now is Prunus Girl but, call me crazy, I don't think it meshes well with Death Note or Bleach.

Another comedy/slice of life one would be Nichijou, even though I thought it worked way better as an anime. I've yet to check out Daily Lives of High School Boys but I hear good things about it.

I'll second this suggestion. I don't read much these days so I can't really talk about manga with the same knowledge base I have with anime, however I have read a very limited number of newer manga and History's Strongest DiscipleKenichi is one of them. I got into it because I enjoyed the anime and wanted to see more of the characters. It's a good action manga with some light romance elements, too.

Another one I liked, what I read of it at least, is Zettai Karen Children. It's about 3 girls with extraordinary psychic powers who work as a team to prevent tragedies and apprehend criminals. It's an action comedy. Like HSDK, I discovered the anime first.

I have a manga reader on my Kindle Fire, and the only manga that I have read so far that is pretty good is Mushishi.

Granted this is manga, but same thing really. Haha, no, in all seriousness, you should read Berserk, FMA (if you liked Brotherhood the anime, then you'll love it, it's where those stories originated from), I think the manga on Air Gear is really good, Trigun (anime is better though), Yu Yu Hakusho, and if you like Harem or shounen manga that's actually kinda funny, I'd recommend I''s (that is how it's spelled), Love Hina, and Negima.

The only good manga I ever read was Ghost In the Shell, and that was confusing as hell. But Conan isnt bad, its just repetitive, and obvious.
