You know you are getting old when all your favorite movie stars are passing away.
RIP Patrick Swayze
yeah man, fuck cancer. i had a good friend who died of cancer when i was like 12. its aweful.
maybe if this country stopped spending trillions on war and put that money into research we could have some fucking cures by now.
Cancer is merciless. I was amazed at how he bounced back after looking so emaciated and weak at the end of last year.
Then all of a sudden he managed to fight back and got a new lease on life.
I'll always have fond memories of Roadhouse, Point Break, Ghost, Red Dawn, Dirty Dancing and Outsiders.
And that Chippendales skit with Chris Farley is one of the best things that SNL has ever produced.
Nobody puts Swayze in the coroner. :(
Damn it. I liked his performances and I liked the movies that I saw with him in them. He's the bouncer of the big Road House in the sky, now.
RIP, Patrick Swayze.
" @ryanwho said:Indeed it was." This thread is making me feel so old. The idea that Swayze would be remembered for some bullshit like Darko is a little disheartening.HEY! Donnie Darko was a damn good film, and I haven't seen Red Dawn. "
He led the Wolverines. "
Getting old means seeing all of your heroes pass away. Be they scientific humanitarians like the fantastic Norman Bourlog who died this weekend or Patrick Swayze or Paul Newman. Get used to it. It'll occur progressively, until we're old enough that people we thought were cool or part of our life or even flat out heroes and inspirations to us are dying almost every day.
Fuck, that is sad news. He started a cool looking show but had to drop out due to illness I recall.
R.I.P
I'm gonna go pop in the Chris Farley Best of DVD right now and watch that."I will always remember him for his very memorable sketch on SNL with Chris Farley doing the Chippendales dance. That is still played today and the juxtaposition of the two actors really made for some great humor. RIP "
Update: Still hilarious after all these years.
Patrick Swayze didn't look in the greatest of health when he did Donnie Darko but he did a great job. He will be missed by many and never forgotten.
