What the title says.

Seeing as my holy grail, Star Trek TNG, finally is coming to Blu-Ray in glorious 1080p I started thinking about other shows from my adolescence that I'd like to see remastered.

First and foremost of these is probably Duck Tales which remains a fantastic show to this date, with some pretty decent animation for its time (drawn with higher FPS than most of its contemporary cartoons) . Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers would be nice too.

A cartoon can't simply be "remastered" into HD, it would have to be completely redrawn.

The Raccoons. Man, do I love The Raccoons. I doubt it'll ever get a rerelease given it's limited audience as a Canadian production.

They can clean up the video a good bit. The Japanese did this with Dragonball Z somewhat recently. Granted, it's still not true "HD" or whatever, but it can look much better.

OP: Titan A.E. I would also like to see the Blu-Ray version of Yu Yu Hakusho, but that ain't happenin'.

engh. The problem is that high definition sucks the life out of animation. IT's not like film or video where HD allows you to see more life. The inherent blurring of low resolution animation tends to make it look more lifelike.

It's the same principal as to why that chick you met in the bar looks awful when you get her out in the daylight.

Thundarr the Barbarian. One of my all-time favorite cartoons growing up and for some reason, still not a setting seen in many video games; post-apocalypse with magic, mutants, robots, amazons, and destroyed modern civilization icons. Why can't I explore the ruins of Cape Kennedy and fight cyborg dinosaurs alongside my hot sorcerer girlfriend and my monkey buddy?

Also, I'd love to see some additional work done on the 80's Dungeons and Dragons series. It was actually some-what episodic, but it didn't get a proper conclusion. And finally, there's The Herculoids. Cheesy, yes and without any substance at all unlike Thundarr and D&D, but I dug it growing up.

And, I can get behind the push for the Disney Afternoon stuff (Duck Tales, Tale Spin, Darkwing Duck and Gargoyles). Speaking of other shows, Rocko's Modern Life and Ahhh!!, Real Monsters would be on my list. Oh and Clone High. Definitely, Clone High.

Gargoyles is a favorite of mine along with Pirates Of Darkwater, which was finally released on DVD recently. Also The Real Adventures Of Johnny Quest, both that and Gargoyles have only been partially released on DVD.

I'd really just like a DVD release of this show B.A.D. - Bureau Of Alien Detectors, a lesser known UPN Saturday Morning cartoon that was kind of like an animated X-Files. They used to have a bunch of episodes on youtube but it looks like they were taken down, so I couldn't find the english version of the intro. Anyone else remember this show?

I guess I'm the only one that likes Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, right?:

Also, how come no one has said Animaniacs yet?:

It can be Upscaled into HD but if the source is 4:3 it will remain in 4:3 while in HD. Old Disney Films on Blu-Ray are that way.

Honestly, I don't really care to see any of the stuff I loved as a kid.  I'm pretty sure it would only diminish the greatness of those shows for me.

None. Stuff not filmed in HD are not HD so moving it to HD is pointless, it looks the same. Only thing its good for, maybe, is looking more accurate on a HD TV. You're not actually getting more definition out of it though.

Also, it looks more like it should in its original format although in that you could argue its original format was looking like shit in which I cant really say that's wrong. My only problem with these is the idea it MUST be done or somehow looks better. Neither of those 2 things are true. Most look perfectly fine on DVD.

@TepidShark: That show is on Netflix, I forgot how ridiculously insane that show became later on. It's kind of hard to watch.

@TepidShark: I meant Sonic. Although the same could be said for Animaniacs, but at least that was still interesting.

I think I should mention that power puff girls was remade... completely... in anime format. No, really. I am not joking, it is literally called Power Puff Girls Z. Just thought I should mention this to anyone who like that show.

I don't want to see Exosquad "remastered" as much as I want it fixed. The DVD releases were of... mediocre quality, and that's being friendly. A real shame, as the cartoon was awesome and had toys that randomly fired their spring loaded projectiles.
