After seeing this image on Coonce's gallery, and then looking up that Screened.com is currently owned by Whiskey Media's CEO, it looks like this is the name of the new movie/tv website Snide and everyone else has been hinting about.

Also it looks like its coming this month according to this interview from Whiskey Media's founders, along with 2 other sites by the end of the year!

Anyone else can't wait??

Awesome, been waiting for it, like the name

#3 Posted by Rallier (1739 posts) -

I'm not all that interested in it. Discussing movies is not really my thing.

#4 Posted by get2sammyb (6412 posts) -

I'll definitely hit up Screened.com -- but I've still got my fingers crossed that Whiskey Media unite the profiles for all their sites. I'd post so much more on the other sites if my GiantBomb username and profile carried over.

#5 Posted by CornontheCobbe (2645 posts) -

Pretty interesting, but not really for me. Movie discussion really is not my kind of thing.

#6 Posted by c1337us (5751 posts) -

I am not really interested in it. I have to admit that I don't really find the other Whiskey Media sites compelling.

Sure, sounds interesting.

I was thinking that they should do a a movie based site.  I'll probably participate for a while, and then not so much when it becomes too popular.  Which it likely will, because there are a lot of people who like to talk about movies on the internet.  Even more so than video games.  I'm not saying movies are more popular than video games, even though that might be the case, but I am saying that people who are avid movie fans like to talk about movies more so than ppl who like vids like to.  Example:  How many ppl know who Roger Ebert is?  That guy gets a lot of hits on his blog.  Now how many ppl know Jeff Gerstmann?

I personally like my communities small, personable, and niche.

Nice catch!

#11 Posted by PenguinDust (12642 posts) -

That will probably wind up my second most visited site right behind GB.  "Screened"...I like it.

#12 Posted by NukeSpoon (530 posts) -

I am totally down with this.

#13 Posted by alternate (2720 posts) -

They are trying to build up a complete network of sites - remains to be seen what it can offer that IMDB doesn't though.

#14 Posted by JJWeatherman (14573 posts) -

Holy crap. They better get to hiring some more engineers. I love Whiskey sites but they already aren't the most reliable sites in the world.

Even if that's technically possible, wouldn't that constitute a violation of the privacy rules? Because I explicitly agreed to the rules of giantbomb.com only, not any other website. You'd have do agree to all of them, and they probably differ in some details.

Forums that you can browse without having to be logged in; a site which doesn't look like a complete sloppy mess...

Anyway, I'm kind of interested, but it's been a while since I've actually watched any movies.

I hope it's tv and movies. I could really get 1000 points easy on some Lost!

@atomic_dumpling:
Why would they be different? I doubt they even are. Not like they are going to restrict you or pull some copyright craps from under you.

Oh thank god its a pun.

#19 Posted by MattyFTM (14434 posts) -

Awesome. A Whois lookup on screened.com shows the registrant as none other than Shelby Bonnie. So yeah, Screened.com . You heard it here first.

I like it, i hope it has wikipage support. could finally break that IMDB empire.

#21 Posted by Geno (6477 posts) -

Now we just need Whiskey Media sites for cooking and sports.

#22 Posted by Hamz (6846 posts) -

Good luck to Whiskey Media and whoever they have running the site. In fact that is now the next piece of the puzzle we need to figure out, who exactly will be running and managing it?

Time to put our thinking caps on ladies and gentlemen, investigation team go!

I am glad Whiskey is taking off, they seem like awesome webhosts (as in they lets us and GB say fuck fuck shit balls).

Finally! I find myself talking about movies on OT much more than video games here on Giant Bomb so this'll be great for me.

Yeah to be honest I'm suprised they haven't already done that. Screened is the name then? Not the greatest choice of name but still pretty cool, I can't wait.
#26 Posted by Yummylee (22587 posts) -

I'll be there 8). Just hope I won't need to wait a millenium for me to receive my profile activation link like I did with Tested.

Oh my god, I'm gonna haveta write so much shit for 'em.

Finally! Film classes actually coming in handy for once.

#30 Posted by Ramyun (664 posts) -

Hell yeah! Finally can move on from imdb and onto a real movie site!

#31 Posted by dbz1995 (4790 posts) -

Nice! This will be awesome

#32 Posted by Castro (951 posts) -

I haven't really checked out Anime Vice or Comic Vine, but Giant Bomb and Tested seem to have a similar attitude as far as their editorial goes. If this new website has the same attitude, it would be awesome. I think that we've all known that the movie website was coming for a while. I'm wondering what the other websites will be about. Maybe television? Maybe? And?

#33 Posted by weegieanawrench (1943 posts) -
@XII_Sniper: Finally a movie site for you that doesn't have a bad userbase. Hopefully anyway.
#34 Posted by Kohe321 (3533 posts) -

Awesome. So I guess they will review movies, cover news and have a podcast? That would be cool.

#35 Posted by CitizenKane (10508 posts) -

Finally, my nagging to Dave since Giant Bomb first started has finally paid off!

#36 Posted by evanbrau (1162 posts) -

This will be like IMDB but with a working forum. This is a good thing. I really like Tested and am looking forward to Screened, I wonder if it will deal with television or just movies?

This will be IMDB with a working forum AND it won't look disorganized as all hell. The thing I love most about Whiskey Media designs is how precise they are. IMDB is a great site with a lot of info on it, but it looks terrible and is a bit annoying to navigate if you don't know what you're looking for.
#38 Posted by SonicFire (821 posts) -

I know that Giant Bomb is quite the success, but how are the other sites doing? Anyone know?

#39 Posted by KaosAngel (13764 posts) -

Can they please just make a universal account for all their sites?  >.>

#40 Posted by Trilogy (2692 posts) -

That's fucking awesome. As long as I like the staff, it could be the only other whiskey media site I get into other than GB.

Mmm, I hear you brother, but I don't know how likely that will be, or how hard would it be to rewrite all that code, I'm sure they have bigger things on their plate at the moment, how would the distribution of Wiki points work?

Dave has said that a universal login is coming at some point. At this point I'd guess it's going to be a nightmare to sort out, with so many different users on so many different websites, so good luck to them when they do it.

Yep. As far as I can understand the boat has sailed for this possibility and it's absolutely gutting that they didn't consider it in advance.
#46 Posted by Organicalistic_ (2933 posts) -

Awesome, the only other thing i need to live is a kickass movie site, because seriously i watch a lot of movies and tv, i could probably contribute to the site,
