Should I leave 3:2 pulldown ON on my TV during broadcast/shows?

From what I understand, 3:2 and 2:3 and whatever pulldown was for TVs to display 24fps movies before TV's could actually do 1080p24. My TV has the feature still, a grayed out option during blurays, but for regular broadcast antennae HDTV, it shows up. What for? Wouldn't stations already modify the film to video rates on their high tech equipment before sending it out as the ABC movie of the week, you know? And most stations carry both sports and soap operas at 60fps, sitcoms at 30fps, in addition to 24fps syndicated movies. Would I have to constantly be adjusting the setting based on what's showing (my tv has a nack for things set to "auto" not registering.)?
