I didn't see any threads like this, so show us your Photos that you've taken and you particularly like.  A friend of mine has also recently setup his own Photography site (http://www.pixelatedphotographer.com), feel free to sign-up on the forums there and post some of your work. 
 
Anyone, here is one I took a couple of weeks ago on a rainy day, with a Canon 1000d.  
 

While old, I feel like this thread could still be used. I am a complete amateur and dummy, so heed my warning. Critiques? Show us your pics!

I did a bit of traveling (Chicago to LA via Route 66 and back through Yellowstone and the Dakotas)
