Similarities between Star Wars and LOTR

I was thinking today the many similarities between Star Wars and Lord of the Rings...
First:  The Three main charecters all have the same charecter traits

Hero                                           Caring                                 Greedy
Frodo                                        Sam                                    Gollum (Smeagol)
Luke Skywalker                      Leia                                    Han


Second: They both start off with a no name living with his uncle.
Frodo is living with Bilbo,
 Luke with Owen Lars.

Three: They both meet Wizards or mentors
Frodo meets Gandalf
Luke meets Obiwan

Four: They are trying to stop megalomaniacs from taking over
Sauron
Emperor Palpatine

Five: They both have two side kicks that aren't the main charecters, but are unexpected heroes
Merry and Pippin
C3-P0 and R2-D2

Six: The most advanced weapon in each, is some type of sword
Hand sword
Light Sword [Saber]

Seven: Both Enemies are destroyed by an explosion
MT. Doom erupting
Death Star blowing up

Eight: They are both directed by men with beards...(JK(

George Lucas

Wow all of these similarities are not solid and could be disproved easily.  However i am too lazy but I wold like to say one thing but how is a wizard or a mentor the same thing.

I thought Eragon was closer to Star Wars than Lord of the Rings.

There are similarities but I am not great at this, so whatever.  They both have a Battlefront-esque coming out or out already.

Those aren't "similarities" at all. That's like saying both films star male actors...yes it's true, but I can say it about other films as well. You even make questions that simply allow for two different answers. "They both meet wizards or mentors" ...
