Since its election time, use Political Compass to define Obamney

Credit to @shmoodow 's thread.

http://www.politicalcompass.org/ shows both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney as Right Wing Authoritarians. I'm curious how your perception of Obama's and Romney's leanings compares to the "experts". Take the test doing your best to answer how you think Obama or Romney would answer and see what you come up with. Taking the test cold, without research (so pretty much based on their speeches and debates), I had them both a lot closer to the Authoritarian center.

This is a US election that defies logic and brings the nation closer towards a one-party state masquerading as a two-party state.

What an amazing and level-headed impartial website.

It's no secret that American politics is right biased in at least some capacity. (I just hope this doesn't come across as "me complaining about policies I don't agree with" or something like that.)

If that doesn't hurt the credibility of Political Compass, I don't know what does, unless you think Obama and Romney share the exact same views on nearly everything, which is an utter load of bullshit. Except, of course, if you're one of those delightfully hollow "whoever wins, we lose" people that just love to paint themselves as above it all, and bust into every discussion to drop their clever one-liner.

Political Compass is pretty inaccurate in my experience. I personally wouldn't take what they say as truth, because sometimes it's just hard to place people into categories Take me for example, when it comes to fiscal issues, I'm hardcore right-wing capitalist. When it comes to government and social issues, I'm hardcore Libertarian. According to political compass, I would be considered a right-wing authoritarian, which simply isn't accurate.

Either way, I think Obama is more towards the left (a marxist) and Romney is father towards the right.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe that Obama, a guy pushing for socialised health care, is nearly as right leaning as Romney. Seems a bit ridiculous.

Hey man, like, we're all gonna die for sure in the next four years regardless of who is elected. I know I said the same thing last time but this time it's true. I swear.

Try this: http://www.politicalcompass.org/uselection2012

Seems a pretty convincing argument for judging them by their actions as opposed to their speeches. Not that spoon fed political speeches and agenda based media coverage are poor sources of information by any standard...

They're pretty much saying that about world politics: http://www.politicalcompass.org/euchart
