If it is good enough to try it out on the USA, then it is good enough to try it out on the EU.

Don't type them out here, just a number.  How many countries do you think there are and how many can you name?  Add where you are from as it just gives meaning.  IS there a song to help you remember?

Anyway, from Australia and I guessed (didn't know) that there were about 30.  I was a bit over.  I was able to name just 15 of them.  I really need to brush on my geography again.  Any worse and George W Bush will know more than me :-(

Edit;  Crap, sorry, I put it in the wrong forum again!

Does just being in Europe make you a part of the EU? Or is it some sort of official "club", that may change my asnwer.

You don't become a an EU member just by being in Europe. Norway for example decided not to join.

I am talking very specifically those countries that are members of the EU, in that they all use the Euro and follow the rules set by the EU.  It is more or less the United States of Europe.

Funny fact (I found it amusing anyway) is that the French rejected the UK entry as they believed them to be a 'trojan horse' for the United States.  Oh, those wacky French.

I'm American, although I lived in Switzerland for 4 years. Man that's a horrible place.

  1. England
  2. Whales
  3. Ireland
  4. Scottland (Totally guessed if the last three were countries)
  5. Switzerland
  6. Turkey
  7. Germany
  8. Iceland
  9. Greenland
  10. Denmark
  11. Sweden
  12. France
  13. Italy
Man, this is just as frustrating as the states one...

The European Union aka the EU is a member club. You can be a member without having to convert to the Euro currency and not every country in the continent of Europe is a member of the EU. The United Kingdom for example is a member of the EU but we still use the Pound Sterling currency.

The EU itself isn't really anything like the USA. Its more like a country club of countries all bickering, bragging and trying to get one up on each other. To be honest its pretty useless if we're being fair. It doesn't help that the UK, France and Germany are always at each other's throats. Damn french :P

I named 20 countries that I'm pretty sure are in the EU, although I've never seen a list of defined members or learned about it.
