I was surprised at how much random crap is available in the Itune store. (flashlight app completely blew my mind) I was thinking about buying the Giant Bomb app but I don't truly understand what comes with the app.  Any help?
Secondly, any advice any decent games for it? I don't feel like repurchasing Final Fantasy again, and the free games section seems very throw away. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The giant bomb app lets you watch videos mainly.  So you can watch the quick looks, video reviews, or the endurance run even.
As for games, I've got a list I compiled together over here, check it out.

The flashlight app is actually incredibly useful for walking around the house at night.

Why bother? Why not go all the way and get an iPhone? iTouch's are such a waste of money.

I got the mororola droid and giant bomb app on there is good.

Good sir, you bought an iPod Touch, not an Itouch.  An Itouch is an imaginary product made up by lazy stoners that can't remember the full name.  By anyways, I hear people like the Tap Tap.

Not everyone can get service w/ AT&T.  Personally, I live an an area where AT&T doesn't have 3G but Verizon does.  Why would I pay a higher bill for slower data speeds?

Ones that come to mind. StoneLoops, Peggle, Duke Nukem 3D, Doom, DoodleJump, Rock Band, Sleep Cycle (not a game, but a very useful application), Lightsaber, Rope'n'Fly... there are many more, but those are the ones that I remember enjoying the most.

oo, and I just recently downloaded Tomena Sanner :). Will have to get around to playing that.

So many good games you need along with the GB iPhone app. I have Doodle Jump, Zogma, Parachute Ninja, so many others. There are so many good apps I have on my iPhone.

That's why you buy a unlocked one. Then that solves all problems. You can get them at resonable prices from some places. Others will charge ridiculous amounts. I got mine through rogers awhile ago

Don't get Tetris it's like 5 bucks. Besides that, there's a free solitaire game today called Tri towers or something.

Not every service is gsm in the states, the big ones like Verizon are cdma, which doesn't support sim chip phones.

No, they aren't. I could have got an iphone a few months ago which would have cost me around £400 and then £20 a month for the contract. So I fucked that over and got an ipod touch for £230. 3G isn't that required when I'm on a campus with wifi almost everywhere.

I believe it's a dollar, there's also an app that makes your hands warm. According to reviews, it works. Not buying either. The 5-0 app is free though. That is odd. It was like #10 on free apps, and I messed around with it and listened to cops reporting a murder scene. That was weird.

Never smoked a day in my life. But it's cool. I'll check out Tap Tap.

I already have a blackberry with At&t, and my Ipod 30 gb is dying out so I thought I'd get Ipod Touch instead of another regular Ipod. Seeing some of the limitations on the Ipod Touch I don't really know how one can recommend an Iphone.

I have an iTouch. I don't consider it having been worth the $100 I paid to relieve a friend of his old 2G one. I have 3 purchased apps. They're so lame, that I forget what they are.

I don't know what I would do if I didn't have an Ipod touch for school......
#36 Posted by CornontheCobbe (2645 posts) -
@Whisperkill: No man! Whoops sorry i worded it a bit wrong there ; )

I had placed my iPod Touch into my hoodie pocket when i was going to pay the man for the lunch, and there were a whole bunch of school kids in line behind me, so when i got back outside and put my hand in my pocket to listen to some tunes walking back to work, it was nowhere to be found. I could only assume that they took it, and i was not going to go back in and blame school kids with no evidence, so i had to call the police and they came and looked at the camera and sure enough, out of a group of girls about 12-13 years old, you could see one of them rob it.

Needless to say, i was pretty pissed off. However since i have a warranty, and a police theft report, i can get a new one with my warranty :) It will take a few weeks though to sort out! :(

I stand corrected, sorry......

#38 Posted by Whisperkill (2969 posts) -
@CornontheCobbe: That sucks

If I saw a 12 year old girl steal my Iphone I honestly might not hesitate too much to punch her in the face. But that might be because I have a sister.

the giantbomb app is quite good, but they should implement forum usage.

I'd tap that.

Yep. Been rolling with iPhones since they launched here in Canada, started with the 3G and moved to the 3GS last june when they came out, never looked back. Sure they are expensive, but it is definitely worth it.

I have decided that i will get every other iphone, I got the 3g when it came out in canada, and will get this years upcoming iphone model. The 3gs is nice and way faster, but I just want to make the jump and buy a new iphone when there are some substantial changes. i.e 64gb+ internal storage space. Can't wait til I can fit my whole library of music on my phone... 16gb is not enough. Considering I use my phone everyday for web browsing, email, music, texts, and calls the operating cost each day is nothing. It's like buying a coffee a day

If you want free apps, jailbreak it.

#46 Posted by BrendenDonaher (89 posts) -
@Th3_James: Oh I know. I am on my iPhone for everything. Last night I was at Walmart buying some stuff for my new University res and I found an item and I couldn't find a tag or a price check, so what do I do, I whipped out the iPhone, and used Pic2Shop to scan the barcode and check prices. This phone really does everything.

nice, they are pretty good for people that have a different phone and don't want to get a iphone.
