Check this out. My clock was set, unknown to me, an hour behind. when I went out to the living room to wait for the bus, I found it to be 7:40 - school had been in session for 10 minutes.
So, I didn't go to school today, and here's why . . .
The worst thing is that I'm missing Calculus. Beign a half hour late would be bad enough punishment because I would be lost.
Be a ninja and sneak into class. Forge a hall-pass, have a friend cover for you.
I think you are throwing in the towel too early.
School authority is very lax (at least it was at my school). If you can formulate a sentence logically and respectfully, you can get away with nearly anything.
"Be a ninja and sneak into class. Forge a hall-pass, have a friend cover for you. There's only one way into my school, and it's watched all the time. No dice.

Usually, I would text a friend to hold the door open for me or sneak in with a gym class.
Damn, high school had so many different ways to be sneaky.
"or get a saturday detention or something .""That's awesome, you can get involved in a Breakfast Club-like situation :P
Thats about the same at my school. If your handing in an assignment, and its 30 minuets late, you get an F for that assignment. If your absent for 3 or more classes, you may fail the course. It sucks, and I've been late because of my stupid alarm, but thats life; and it prepares you.
That is really, really dumb. I don't understand those policies either, and being late only 2 times and then threatened with suspension is incredibly strict and uncalled for. One year I missed about 30 days in highschool, but my mom would always wrote me a note as an excuse I could turn in. Somehow I think I wouldn't be able to do that again due to new policies they've created.
There is a method behind this madness as when I was in school they had a similar policy, although it was something more like 5 times being late equalled some form of punishment. If you turn up to school late they mark that down as being late and likely have to go through some policy set down to them by whatever local authority / education board that governs them.
However if you are late and don't turn up but inform the school you are ill, even if you are healthy, then they can mark you down as having a legitimate excuse to not be in school that day and as such they don't have to enforce the silly "late policy" on you that they clearly have in use.
It sounds mad I know but I remember our deputy rector would inform us about this as the school themselves didn't really want to punish people for being late all the time, especially the sixth years who were always late for whatever reason. But on the other side having pupils turn up late and get away with it unpunished set a bad example to everyone. So to solve both problems they would tell us that if we knew we'd be 20 minutes or so late, just don't bother coming in until the end of the school day when we could find out what homework / coursework we had to catch up on.

thats bullshit. 7:30, man school starting at 7:30 sucks. my school starts at 9:40. ya boi. also, the dean is on crack

I end up missing half of Calc because I keep dozing off."1
2. creamy dude makes up a lot of bullshit stories to get attention
"dude i've missed the first hour of class like 40 times this year and never got punished. Bed is awesome"Yeah, I missed twice, and the Dean said that he was gonna let it slide because it was my first offense. That means if I weren't one of the best-scoring testtakers at the school, I'd have gotten a saturday detention my 2nd time.
My school had very severe penalties for stupid bullshit like this too. If I came to school before class but left and came back still before class starts, they'd suspend me. Stupid crap about liability. All I wanted was to go across the street and get a Red Bull. Class hadn't even started yet.

Someone had to do it.

Man your dean sounds quite strict. At our school the principal is this old Scottish hag who always seems to be grouchy and waits in the hallways after the bell goes saying in her Scottish accent "Come oon, let's gooo" it seriously sounds like that! But at least they don't lock all the doors at my school, and no-one is watching the front doors, but the office is right there so anybody coming late probably would use one of the other doors. It's a good thing your mom was chill about the whole thing though,my mom would have made me go anyway. And grats on the Calculus man,i would be so lost in that class.
Oh my . . .

Only stupid people go to school anyway.
I dropped out, and now I'm my own man.
I've got it made working at McDonalds for $6.00 an hour.
See school is sooooo not needed.

Holy shit, talk about trying to make people into complete, programmed sheep that can't ever question authority. 3 times in A FULL YEAR causes that backlash? I'm glad I didn't spend my school years there. At least your parents are understanding and can cover for you. But seriously, what if you went to school with your mom and she told the dean something along the lines of it was her fault, or something was up with the car or whatever? He'd just interrogate everyone to find out if it really is true and scold both her and you? What a douchey system :S
