Update for the lazy readers: After what seems like an eternity, our little boy has finally made his way out! Thank you all, and though both Wrex and Quasimodo Thunderflash are superb names, we're leaning towards Michael. Both mother and son are in good health, and all is well. Need sleep now, or my brain will turn to mush.

Just had my daughter 9 months ago, and get ready to have your life change for the better. I never thought I could enjoy a little one under my wing, but man is it the greatest feeling ever.

I wouldn't trade my daughter for the world. She's 2 and half now.. and a complete smart ass.

Best piece of advices I can give

1) Never freak out, it can be handled.

2) Take your share of the pain. I never let me having to get ready for work at 7AM prevent me from spending two hours in the wee hours of the morning trying to put my daughter back to sleep when she was two months old.

3) They're pretty durable, but never assume that durability.

When we first brought her home it's kind of funny. I was with her all night long while my wife slept, and she was with her all day while I slept for two weeks straight. We were afraid she'd just suddenly stop breathing or something.
