As a Floridian I made the special effort to go see her play at a local venue just to boo her off the stage. I'm also one of the few that have gotten to boo Kreyshawn off the stage. Basically you can say I'm doing God's work here.

No, you're a cunt.

Rapsody, for female MCs right now.

Hate to even have to say "female" like its slighting her because she's excellent.

I know I'll sound like an old, annoying man when saying this, but Rap died well over 15 years ago. Holy hell I feel out of touch...

I see what you are saying, but there are genuinely talented rappers out there. It's just, as with most music, you have to look for it because it doesn't usually hit the top 40 playlists.

Overall, "underground" hip-hop is better right now than it has been in a good 10 years or more. Some of the dudes are breaking mainstream even which has been surprising. Why I use the "underground" term in quotes. Big KRIT, Action Bronson, Danny Brown, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Clams Casino, Schoolboy Q, ASAP Rocky, Harry Fraud, Rapsody, among others. All very talented artists.

@Trav: http://twitter.com/chippy_nonstop/status/246777736100732928 is what I was thinking of. Seems like a weird thing if they don't.

That came about because Ryan started tweeting about her when him and Jeff first discovered that song. And seeing as she wasn't exactly a hot commodity at the time, it was easy to see that Ryan was bringing a lot of attention to her song on YouTube and such. So, she eventually got in touch with him over Twitter.

While attempting to see if I had the same feelings as i originally did about her (and attempting to see if it was just a primacy effect of oh here is a hipster chick awfully all in my face with this same thing again ugh),

I found that the droning song is from a UK producer by the name of Water and the track is (Diplo) and it is literally a cut and paste from soundcloud (she even states it herself on twitter because the producer was a "butthead" and wouldnt give her original recordings). If she couldnt rework it why didnt she just choose a different song/producer who would give her something proper. This just reminded me of when Sabrepulses track got directly ripped for Riff Raff and it got twitter blasts for them to give recognition of the source.

What a weird, weeeeeird congruence of people and events.

@FreakAche

Reading some of these comments has brought about the realization of how much I've started to hate these forums.

Really? I actually feel quite the opposite. I
Anyway, I'm in a car without headphones, but the descriptions of this song make it sound great. (Bummer thag I cant put the word 'great' in italics on my phone...)

@Demoskinos: Not my cup of tea but I feel the same about Maura Davis.

I love all of the work she did in Ambulette, Glos and Denali.

NO, because I couldn't care less about rap.

Kitty is awesome. Took me a bit to get used to her, and I just can't get into a couple of her songs, but whatever. She's great when you want something weird. I can definitely see why she's not everyone's cup of tea though.

It was just one verse on a build up, no decent bass and it never dropped. It seems she used someone elses beat without giving any credit until someone called her out on it.

She is garbage, but her boyfriend (also in the video) Nick aka Hot Sugar is a very dope producer.

No problem man. I didn't give her a listen for a while after hearing about her but I regretted it once I did. Check out that whole album it's one of the better ones of the year.

That video was actually worse than I expected.

You've got my blessing.
