Tattoo ideas!

Hey fellow bombers.

I've been thinking about getting a couple of tattoos. Thing is, I'm not really sure what I want to get. I'm leaning really hard towards to chains from Bioshock right now, but I want something more visible as well. And that's where you come in! I want something symbolic and meaningful, and not just some throw-away joke tattoo. Here's a list of some fiction that I really like, and that's inspired me a lot:

• One flew over the cuckoos nest

And that's all I can think of right now. You might want to note that I'm a minimalist, and I don't want a huge, complex tattoo. The chains from Bioshock should give you an idea as for what tattoo I want. Now, the floor is yours!

I always said that if I got enough money, or went down a road that I could get a job where it doesn't really matter, I'd get this as a tattoo. 
 
Besides that, I'd say start subtle. A lady friend of mine had the Starwars rebel symbol, filled in with a rose, on the back of her neck behind her hair. Do something small and hideable, like the Batman symbol or something on your bicep. Again, with the above stipulations, I'd get a Foxhound patch on mine.

I wouldn't get a tattoo just for the sake of getting a tattoo.

If there's not something you care deeply enough for that you know you'd want it on your body forever... don't get a tattoo.

Get a tattoo. Your body is a canvas waiting to be covered in art.

It's from Lost (the TV show). I'd have it one my left arm, and it actually has quite the striking meaning. It reads "Eagles high, cleaving sky". It's symbolic for struggeling for freedom, and that would fit with the small wrist chains I'm thinking about.

I was going to get a dharma tattoo in high school then that dumbass Lost show came out and it convinced me not to get a tattoo. Best decision I ever made.

I would join the "don't get a tattoo" chorus, but I'm super-curious what chains you mean from BioShock. Also, no love for a Giant Bomb tattoo?

I was going to get a dharma tattoo in high school then that dumbass Lost show came out and it convinced me not to get a tattoo. Best decision I ever made.

I highly support you in getting a tattoo, just don't get a video game tattoo. BUT if you have to have a video game tattoo, either

A) Make it as minimalistic as possible.

B) Make it as outrageous and gnarly as possible. I recommend this one because they are the only good ones I have ever seen.

Oh, also fucking don't get a god damned video game tattoo. Don't be that guy. but if you have to be that guy, Farcry 3. And when anyone asks about the tattoo you have to correct their pronunciation. "It's Tatau!"

While no one here can stop you from getting a tattoo, sorry, a tatau, but crowd sourcing tattoo ideas just sounds like it will end poorly. Tattoos are to me about personal meaning and unless something is really grabbing you, there's not much point in getting one.

Asking other people for ideas of what to get inked is silly. I'm all for Tattoos but really if you can't come up with an idea yourself you shouldn't get one. I also think it should be unique to you, i'm sure plenty of people have bioshock chains on their wrists. That's just my opinion though.

I'm really surprised how many people are sort of taking an anti-tattoo stance here.

Anyway, if you're thinking about getting one, don't ask people what you should get. If you can't figure it out yourself, it's probably not worth putting on your skin. But that's just my thought.

If you want a tattoo, get a tattoo. I was always interested in getting the chains from bioshock myself but felt that it was a little obvious. Also, does anyone else find themselves hating Ryan a little because of his tattoo? Having MUM in Binary tattoo'd on your arm is SO FUCKING SMART and I wish I had thought of it.  
 
So to answer your question, you should get "FUCK RYAN DAVIS" in binary code tattoo'd on the back of your head like Agent 47. Your welcome. 

@Legion_: You seem to like the idea of showing that you're struggling for freedom, so i, personally, would get something chain-related. Breaking the chains and all that. The Bioshock phrase is really cool... BUT, think more about it, i know i'm going to sound boring, but think about something that deserves a tattoo, because it will be forever in your body, dude, so really think about it.

Get the Mario 'M' tattooed on your forehead.

I'd get a tattoo that you wouldn't be embarrassed to show to your grandkids someday. And I definitely don't think that a video game tattoo is a bad idea, every one that you get captures a moment or a time period in your life. Even if you stop liking the thing you have a tattoo of it'll still be a nice reminder of where you were in your life when you got it.

I'm of the opinion as well that you shouldn't get one. If you need to ask people what to get then you shouldn't get it tattooed on your body for life. They need to mean something personal to you. I'm of the rule that once you decide you want to get a design done, wait at least one to three years. If at the end you still want it as badly then have at it. Personally I want to get a Brotherhood of Nod logo and the Sith code at some point because CnC has been a big part of my life and without it I wouldn't be who I am. As for the Sith code, I just like the meaning behind the words. I got this idea when I was around 12-14 and I promised myself that if I still wanted it by the time I got to 30 that I would. I'm 4 years away.

Any who, I don't know enough about your likes to suggest much from them, but I think getting the boat and some waves under it could look cool.

Thats kinda cool but why have them as zombies?

To the OP, keep in mind whatever you get you are going to have to have it still be reasonably relevant in like 50 years. Don't know what the chances of a Mass Effect (etc) tatt being recognised by then.

You should send an email to Sony PR telling them your plan. I'm sure they would love the publicity of someone getting an all Sony cast of characters tattoo and might pay for it for you.
