I figured to practice my writing skills, I should write about something I like. Video Games. This is me testing out what system I want to use to embark on this little project. More to come.

@blackneuron: heh. You may want to write this as a Blog post, not in the forums. It'll probably just get locked.

Also, I think you mean "Beginning".

@blackneuron: Good idea. I've been writing for years now. I was doing a somewhat political blog last year, lost interest after a bit. I realize the passion for writing was there, but the material wasn't what I loved. Well that, and I didn't really want to start a bunch of political arguments with people I barely knew on Facebook, who stumbled across my writings.

I'm currently starting a new gaming focused project. I am building up a few pieces before putting anything out there, but it should be ready soon. While I don't plan on hosting the blog proper here on GiantBomb, I'll definitely re-post some stuff I write on my GiantBomb blog to hit a larger audience.

Good luck though. Whether you're doing it just for fun or if you want to make a career out of it, I hope it goes well for you. Writing can be very rewarding.

My favorite kind of the blog is the one that talks about how they're eventually going to write something rather than just writing something.

@HatKing: Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have always been good at writing code, but just writing in general I have never been good. A writer friend of mine told me the best way to get better is to just write, so I will do just that. I used this post as well to see what the community feedback would be like. So far blogger is looking like the best option with the ties into my Google+ circles.
