I used to like this a lot for laughing at Luke and Shane, but listening to some of this today - I never realized how smart John was.  He's right constantly everyone else was so wrong about everything.

Getting a lot of tweets about this from (ex)-1up guys. Congrats on getting their attention.  
 
Great wish is for the GFW podcasts to get similar treatment.

The reason to like Garnett Lee is earnestness. 
Not a lot of podcast guests - much less podcast hosts - are willing to go out on a limb and risk looking foolish to talk about games in more theoretical or idealistic terms. But boy, he is. And he does. 
And when so much of video game discussion tends toward reactionary flame-bait (the fans) or bitter, ironic detachment (the press), it's nice to listen to someone who both has opinions, and is willing to defend them. It's interesting, in a way a hundred HUD- and dick-jokes sometimes aren't. 
Even when he happens to be totally, totally wrong about everything.

Seeing how much love 1UP Yours and Weekend Confirmed get, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. Garnett seems like a good guy, but I've been trying to like WC for a few months now and can't help feeling that he has no idea what he's talking about. After listening to this, I just don't understand what it is people like about him. I don't want to sound like I'm personally attacking him, but I don't think he's very good at what he does.  Leahy seemed like he was the most articulate and reasoned voice on Weekend Confirmed, though I only starting listening a few weeks before he left. I'm not sure why I continue to. "

This is amazing. Good work.  Just got done listening to the entire 4 hours and 40 minutes of this. So nostalgic when listening to them talk about the next-gen before Wii/360/PS3 were released.

About half way through now, brings back a lot of memories.

As someone who didn't even visit game websites in 2006, I appreciate the quick recaps. Though I happened to have gone back and listened to the first years of both 1UP Yours and GFW Radio. 

Nostalgia of GFWraido came up and I wanted to go and re listen to the older podcast again. 
I came across another compilation of the podcast here  http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=8699945  
and I just love it, listen to it all in one shot and crave for more.  Google podcast compilation and this shows up : )
