I'm pretty sure the title describes a lot of us "bombers" (or whatever the hell we're gonna call ourselves) here.

Nothing against GameSpot, but I'm just saying that I don't think I'll be picking Kane & Lynch up anytime soon.

Anyways, post links to your old profiles. May they rest in peace.

"Bombers" sounds fine to me.

Here's mine. I barely used it, so maybe I don't really match the thread title, but whatever.

I'll go there still of course until this site has all the kinks worked out but of course I'll come here daily

Assuming the GiantBomb community is lively and active, I'll be sticking around here more often from now on.

Well guys,

It was a nice ride over at GS, but they lost their touch with reality. It became less about the gamer, and more about the game. After what happened last year with firing one of the best editors that place had ever seen, I was ready for a change (as I think we all were). I'm sick of the paid subscriptions, the ads, the abusive mods and obsessive fanboys. Now we will probably get some of that here, but more on the fanboy level.

Let the Bombing begin.

(cheers)

i go there for the forums only. ill probably just switch to gb if the forums here are active. this place has a lot of nifty features that gs didnt have.

I used to go there, but when kane and lynch went down, and everyone left, i left to GT for a short while it was crap. this here is the real stuff.

Gamespot is dead to me.

#11 Posted by powicewobots (96 posts) -
This used to be my GameSpot account.

I got tired of the community, and needed a new place to post.
#12 Posted by vidiot (2737 posts) -

I am ready to become a full fledged "giant bomber".

...

Because all the cool kids are doing it... Bombs away!

I'm probably not going to stop posting on GS, but I'll definitely be coming here a lot.  Oh and here is my GS profile.

I left after "Gerstmanngate" and haven't really looked back since. I use Reader for news so my gaming community side has been left kind of void. Here's to hoping that GB can fill it!

I didn't really keep a blog there or anything + only got up to L23.

I love the new website design. I dont believe Ill quit gamespot totally, but the visits I will give it will be once a month or something like that.

#18 Posted by RobbieH (52 posts) -
Mine.

I'll stay on GameSpot to posts on my union boards, but Giant Bomb seems promising so far.
#19 Posted by Yunvon (120 posts) -

Well GS does still have something (and maybe I am just not seeing it here) but have a thing were you track, add, blah blah your games...hmm

#20 Edited by ImWayGooderest (75 posts) -

I used to frequently visit gamespot all the time. I even was a gamespot complete member up until the whole fiasco at the end of 2007. After that I switched to 1up.com but I think I'm gonna stay here instead.

I rarely visited the forums but I did become a paid subscriber for about a year just to watch On the Spot in HD. I cancelled my membership after Rich Gallup moved and never went back after Jeff and Ryan left.

Here it is:  http://www.gamespot.com/users/MrZeal/

Never posted anything, one review and 2 forum replies... I already beat that!
I'd be here more than there.

Shalom :)

I may still use Gamespot from time to time but for now the bomb is the way of the future

#25 Posted by Atlas (2430 posts) -

I've never been an active member of GameSpot really, but I still check it every day for news and such, and for some reason I still read the reviews. When Giant Bomb eventually takes over, I'll drop GameSpot like a bad habit.

Deleted mine, haha.

#27 Posted by elliooo (293 posts) -

Yeah gamespot has been slowly heading downhill, now I'm gettin settled in my new home - Giant Bomb.

#28 Posted by lettuceman44 (109 posts) -

I'm gonna still go on Gamespot more, but I will still come here ever day if I can.

Whats with all the hostility? Don't tell me people are still angry about Kane and Lynch...

#29 Posted by Slimer (10 posts) -

I was a full member for about a year orso I think. It started going downhill for me when Rich left, cause he was an awesome presenter, though Jeff easily filled his shoes. Then the whole deal went down, and here we are.

And how is that?

I would prefer to pay a subscription to a site I knew had my best interests first. GameSpot became way too business oriented and forgot about the people it was delivering a service too. It's mainly for that reason and the fact that i dislike most of the "new" writers that I'm most likely going to stop visiting as frequently.

Yep....totally feeling that way right about now.  I'll probably still visit though....I have about 8,000 posts there and I don't feel right just abandoning that.

So far i am enjoying the site, its a bit different but i think Giant Bomb > Gamespot.

#38 Posted by TwoOneFive (9459 posts) -

i never gave a crap about jeff and his situation with gamespot. never really cared about jeff at all, i just like this site and i am super tired of GS forums. i got suspended (again) from their forums for five days for having this same avatar on there. they said it was a major spoiler! a little late to the party, am i right?

this site is really cool, i definitely like it more than GS already
#39 Posted by Juggernaut140 (4 posts) -

I'm not going to stop using Gamespot (also Kane and Lynch is awesome)

IMO Gamespot > Giantbomb. :P Basically because I have loyalties lol. Though to me they are pretty much equal, though GS has been out longer, so it has more stuff.

Don't kill me. o.o

Joined GameSpot back in 2005, and I was coming up for my second year there when I got really tired of the community, since a lot of people I knew left, so I sort of, uh, got myself banned.

I think people are angry with what happened about K&L but i think people are pissed of with gamespot as they went downhill after the incident. My view about the incident is that I am glad that it had happened as we would be not on this amazing website

Yea, but we don't need like 40 threads proclaiming this.
I myself still love Gamespot, and after there awesome E3 coverage I love them even more :P
#45 Posted by IndieBoy (109 posts) -

I rarely use gamespot any more. I now use 1up and probably now Giant Bomb =D

1up? Who would take 1up over Gamespot?
Thats just silly.
#47 Posted by get2sammyb (6412 posts) -

I too will be leaving behind the ol' Gamespot website. There's just no need for it.

#48 Posted by Guffman (21 posts) -

i like the idea of being called a bomber :P despite the fact it sounds very shady in other social groups but hey its all about taking risks :P As for a comparison of GS vs GB id find myself here more often than GS due to the fact that i enjoy this site more and think the content is far better. But really the Kane and lynch factor does not really come into mind often seeing as GS already shot themselves in the foot with one layoff that led to the start of at least 5 employees leaving the company shortly after so its their lose really.

#49 Posted by proAvenger (1 posts) -

I joined gamespot in 2004. But from 2004 to now the website is going downhill if you ask me. Way to many fanboys on the forums and the E3 2008 coverage was really crap.

I am gonna stick around here for a while too see if it is any good.

#50 Posted by Cleric (286 posts) -

I've been a Gamespot member since 2004. Left when things started smellin' funny (Rich leaving, the Gerstmann-gate and basically the whole community falling to pieces). I always had my alternatives though, and I've been keeping an eye on GiantBomb since day one.

Now I think I found my safe haven. :D
