Whoa what the fuck.. I don't even.. Started the video not really knowing what to expect but then got completely blown away by it. I don't.. I just stared at her for the entire video.

Thank you for showing me this.

No, I believe you are mistaken. That accolade belongs to Pete Tong.

Make her sing the Velvet Room song.

#11 Posted by CaLe (3678 posts) -

We have different standards when it comes to beautiful voices.

#12 Posted by S0ndor (2715 posts) -

Quite beautiful, indeed. For me it's Steve Perry, the former lead singer of the band Journey.

#13 Posted by GTCknight (555 posts) -

wow just wow. Didn't think I would even care, but that's a really good voice she's got.

Also I think she's cute.

Meh i am not a fan of that kind of music

I think a deep gravelly voice is pretty cool

i like this dudes voice

Her voice doesn't sound that unique compare to many other female vocalist in orchestras. In my opinion, Grimes is way better.

#19 Posted by Dunchad (460 posts) -

Very nice indeed. Onitsuka Chihiro has a pretty amazing voice as well:

I like her voice better

#22 Posted by Veektarius (4148 posts) -

She has some pretty great intonation but I feel like her voice is fairly thin for opera.

#23 Posted by harinosho (588 posts) -

Great voice, thanks for bringing it to GB

#24 Posted by Deranged (1837 posts) -

Certainly impressive.

#25 Edited by SamSharp505 (210 posts) -

Hmm...

I guess technically that's awesome, but that kind of voice scares me :|

I don't have any proper answers, but I'm in love with Carmen Forbes voice at the moment o;

I've only heard her in Fytch's songs, but they were awesome.

#26 Posted by laserbolts (5309 posts) -

Wow she really is good. I don't know why people are linking metal songs to this thread.

I was wondering why certain parts sounded so familiar. Also, yes, someone should get her to sing it.

Internet GO!

I remember seeing this song spliced with WWII footage on TV once. (Some public access thing for Veterans day) That was pretty powerful stuff. Anyway, she definitely has a beautiful voice.

I see your high pitched voice and I raise you this:

#32 Posted by PeasantAbuse (5120 posts) -

She sounds like everyone in my old high school choir, cool.

#33 Posted by SoldierG654342 (1681 posts) -

She's a good singer in the most conventional ways possible.

I also don't care foe Ave Maria.

Pretty much.. her voice is beautiful and runs a chill down your spine, but there are a million other choir girls with more or less the same voice..

Still pretty biased to Sarah Brightman. I just can't help myself.

And second to her would have to be Florence Welch.

Ash Koley is my favorite vocalist right now. And she's from Winnipeg, so that's a plus!

#38 Posted by Gilbert64 (56 posts) -

I'm disappointed this thread isn't about Brad.

#39 Edited by Do_The_Manta_Ray (508 posts) -

@Gilbert64: See, I went in here assuming it just would be about Brad. I imagined a segment of Starcraft 2 or Quicklook clips where Brad's manly, deep voice called us to shipwreck like sirens of old..

Moving on. TC, woman you initially showed certainly could sing wonderously. So could most of the others people have posted here in turn. But I can't get my head around just how quite technical it all is. There's very little personality in the singing we've seen so far, nothing actually unique. Closest we got was @FreakAche: with what he posted. Which admittedly wasn't bad, at all. Kinda' soft, though. Now, beauty is subjective, and there is no true common divider for it. Always going to be something of a schism between two different people and their concept of what is beautiful and what is enjoyable. For me, it's always been a lot of personality, something that clearly says "Hey, this is different" that marks beauty. So allow me to post you guys two videos to show what I mean.

First of all, Björk, who else? She can sing, she writes music that doesn't sound like anything anybody else does. And she's got the cutest, yet most disturbing accent you're like to find in a beautiful woman.

And for another woman with an overload of charisma and personality, I give you Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Also an accomplished song-writer, and general hottie. (Besides, we needed a song with some bloody guitars. AND NO SWORDS! This ain't no age of dragons, fool! )

This just being female singers, ofcourse. You want good male singers outside of the Opera? Hell, go listen to Radiohead, or Grizzly Bear. Or Fleet Foxes, or The Beatles, or bloody QUEEN!

Edit: First video is kinda' disturbing, I just found out. Have the album, but never laid eyes on the video.. Shit, duders.

Yeah Hayley is extremely talented but this is still my favourite female voice singing her best song (and I'm also a huge Bjork and Joplin fan):-

seriously, listen to the track, it's not long at all, it was a B-side.
