@cap123: Yeah I agree about the midfield, but I don't with the defense, it's like we have one side, but the other is missing. I also think it's dependent on who actually starts in the midfield. I'd say we've an incomplete defense, dependent on who starts in that midfield, on paper it could be good, but I don't rate half of the back up, with the likes of Carrick and Milner, I mean they're good, but not World cup good, then we have half of a strike force. And with no Becks is there a real set piece taker?
I've got Mexico and South Africa coming out of group A. I do't expect much of anything from France at this world cup. I think there's just too much drama with that team at the moment and it has to take it's toll on the squad.
@Ineedaname: yeah perhaps strength in depth we are behind the other teams. However, I think Lampard, Gerrard, Hargreaves, Milner, Joe Cole, Barry, Lennon, are all very good midfielders. However two of those are injured and 2 are out of form.. Defensively i do see what you mean, four years ago terry and ferdinand were much better players. King would be great if he wasn't made of glass. But that's all we have!
I think you rate germany higher than most though, they seem to be a team which is more than the sum of their parts to me.
Argentina have strength in depth of attack to rival any team in history hah.
