The PAX Prime Panel Plan

Time is weird. I sort of feel like PAX East just happened. I flew into Boston directly from an event in Rome, so I was already jetlagged all to hell and the entire show felt like some kind of weird blur of loud noises. At some point I sang a song by The Main Drag in front of a room full of people, a move that I, at least, found hilarious. Again, I hadn't slept too much.

We also put on a big ol' panel where we... did what we do. We talked into microphones. Here, relive the Boston glory right here:

Tomorrow we're heading up to Seattle to put on another panel! It's going to be in the PEGASUS THEATRE on FRIDAY at 9:00PM! You should be there! We'll be there! Ryan has a dumb/great idea or two planned! Brad Shoemaker will be there! Vinny "Bust Downs" Caravella will be IN THE BUILDING! Drew Scanlon! It'll be fun.

But that's not all?

I will be appearing on a panel on SATURDAY at 3PM in the SERPENT theatre. It's titled "Stuff Your Criticism, I Want A Review! Part Two." I didn't see the first installment, but I'm hoping that this is the dark middle chapter in the I Want A Review! trilogy.

Patrick will show up on FRIDAY at 11:30AM in the KRAKEN theatre on a panel where Community Managers and PR people are going to bring it with the hands and get into a big fist-fight. My money's on Wes Phillips, but Jeff Green fights dirty so it's sort of a toss-up.

Ryan is crashing the Cards Against Humanity panel on SATURDAY at 9:30PM in UNICORN. Be sure to show up in your utilikilt and claim to know everything about Chicago pizza, Max Temkin loves that.

We will, of course, also be running around the show to see stuff and generally hang around, so if for some reason you can't make it to our panel (you should make it to our panel), we'll be around! Say hi! See you there!

Cool! I wish I could get there, but sadly, that cannot be. Maybe PAX East next year. Especially since I live in Massachusetts.

Nope, they'll be there!

I mainly look forward to PAX for those D&D games that the PA guys do as they always upload them to youtube to watch later and they are always fun. Here's hoping they do one again.

If you guys are looking for a bar to hit up after PAX, the Unicorn just opened it's downstairs area (now called Narwhal). Featuring pinball tables such as midevil madness, adams family, lord of the rings, junkyard (something or other). It's pretty close to Dick's hamburgers in Capitol Hill too. Not to mention the fact that this bar can hold at least 5 times as many people as Shorty's.

Make sure you new PAX goers show up to the Giant Bomb panel at least an hour early. I wouldn't show up much earlier than that because at PAX East 2012 the Enforcers freaked out at the amount of people who showed up so early (they didn't really know how to handle all of the people).

Good luck to everyone going to PAX. Don't forget to OD on B-vitamins and wear a surgical mask at all times.

Having said that though, they didn't really mind if you hang around, as long as you're not in the way. I sat by a wall outlet for 3 hours playing Pinball Arcade waiting for the panel to start. Front row seat was worth it.

We need images of Jeff as a serpent, Patrick as a kraken, and Ryan as a unicorn, STAT!

Please, anyone going to the GB Panel. If you're going to line up for Q&A, ask a decent question, and practice asking it beforehand.

Actually, that advice also goes out to anyone attending any convention panel ever.

@Voxel: I was there, and that sucked. In all the random moving around and being made to sit down again and then face the wall and then line up in twos and then in threes and then sit down again, we somehow got screwed out of decent seats even though we were there almost two hours early.

PAX sold out way too fast this year. I waited a day, and poof! All tickets were gone :-(

Really sad that I'll be missing the panel on Friday night. Gotta go to a wedding that night in Vancouver, BC, then driving down to Seattle all night to be at PAX first thing in the morning.

The whole questions/answers thing was a train wreck. Between the aforementioned Greg Kasavin question to the guy trying to get the GB crew to check out his ghost recon (?) game, I wish they'd just skip it and just keep talking/have more guests.

Let that be a lesson to you next year. I, too, was surprised at how quickly they sold out, and then I realized that I was a dumbass for waiting at all. Money wasn't a problem; I was just being lazy. Next time around, I won't be stupid.

Also, no 14-part questions. Something about nerds and not knowing to quit while they're ahead. I'd be mad as hell if I were waiting in line behind some dude going "Uhh...erm...one more thing..." and I never got to ask my question.

Q&A's have become the worst part of the panel. It's too much effort, but beforehand, an enforcer should gather everyone's question written down in a hat and GB just picks a few. And tough shit if GB doesn't answer it correctly.

Hope everyone has a great time at PAX! Next year I think I'll finally have my shit together enough to get down there myself :)
