The stream is no longer live, but the chatroom is still up! Join the party on giantbomb!

If you need to stream these episodes because you are without the relevant TNG data files, check out my following youtube playlists, they are in the same order as above, with no need to select the next video within a single episode.

"Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So we have come here today to dramatize a shameful condition."

I have a dream, that by stardate -312044.99, all the peoples of the planet Earth will be free from the cruel and unjust subjugation of their fellow Man...

Engage.

Most of my fav episodes are already on that list. I'd suggest "The Wounded" and "The Defector" though. Both very powerful character pieces.

Also, which stream is this going to be on? justin.tv/giantbomb?

I will watch what I can, but I have plans for a good chunk of tomorrow. Still, what I will watch should be good times.

AWESOME. AWESOME TO THE MAX.

Man, SyFy was playing TNG all last week. Be nice to hear some Whiskey Media branded commentary though.

#6 Posted by slider7 (11 posts) -

That's great. I still need to get the DVD set though.

#7 Posted by Fattony12000 (7092 posts) -

Can't believe they did not choose 'Chain of Command'.

#8 Posted by Azteck (7449 posts) -

I'm in as long as it's TNG.

#9 Posted by FreakAche (2950 posts) -

So uh. When's Martin Luther King Junior Day? I'm not American.

Tomorrow.
#11 Posted by Fattony12000 (7092 posts) -
@FreakAche: I am not American, and I know the date of when we, globally, celebrate his work. Do you not know who Martin Luther King was?

So, you're a massive racist and you are basically saying that you hate all blacks, slaves, Jews, the entire Civil Rights Movement, Apple, disabled people, Jaffa Cakes, and the Polio vaccine?
#12 Posted by FreakAche (2950 posts) -
@Fattony12000: Dude chill out. Think about what you actually just wrote. Yes I obviously care about Martin Luther King Jr. Just because there is no Martin Luther King Junior Day on my calendar (and I can't recall one ever being on a calender that I own), you're implying that I'm some kind of horrible racist? I can't even wrap my head around that kind of logic.
#13 Posted by Green_Incarnate (1788 posts) -

Oh dude! Nice work. I'll be tuning in. Anyone know what stream they're using?

Sarcasm, dude. It's what's for dinner.

Dude, I love you for organizing this. I was going to try and compile some streams for DVD-less folk like I, but you're just too damn good.

#16 Posted by Venatio (4482 posts) -

I'm confused here, why are they gonna watch 12 hours of TNG on MLK day? And will they be streaming the episodes themselves or them watching the episodes? Where can I watch the stream?

I haven't watched much Star Trek in my life but I know alot about it, actually just started watching DS9 and Voyager today, really liking DS9

#17 Posted by jorbear (2517 posts) -

Wait, so TNG=MLK?

#18 Edited by Fattony12000 (7092 posts) -
@PixelPrinny:  @FreakAche: I think it's abundantly clear that we will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.

Because Star Trek TOS was one of the first shows to go past the whole "race" thing. That's what Star Trek is actually about, you might be an alien with a different culture, life, and belief, but goddamn it we're all the same.

TNG just happens to be the best Star Trek series, granted I love Kirk a little more than Picard.
#20 Posted by Doctorchimp (4069 posts) -
@Venatio: Also no, they won't be streaming the episodes themselves, that'd be illegal and get their stream shut down.

But if you read the first post the OP graciously linked to a youtube playlist that has all the episodes they are going to watch in order.

@Venatio: As previously stated:

This is correct, of course.

Captain Luther King.

@XII_Sniper: I know, energise.
#23 Posted by JeanLuc (3574 posts) -

As a person who was named after Jean-Luc Picard, I feel it is my duty to join in this live stream.
Also because The Next Generation is awesome.

Man, Dr. King would have made a great starfleet captain. Aside from the whole nonviolence thing.

@Fattony12000:    Oh dude. Awesome. Thanks for making the playlist.

That's why Malcolm X would be second in command on the ship.

missing Redemption 1 & 2

#30 Posted by Dtat (1623 posts) -

Dude you fucking rock! So awesome I don't have to select new videos in the middle.

#31 Posted by Fattony12000 (7092 posts) -
@Mr_Pips: Sorry, am I missing that one from their official list? Or do you mean they left it out of their selection?

Apple? What the fuck? Dude, I seriously hope you were being silly.

Also, I'm disappointed at the lack of netflix instant streaming for TNG v.v I've never been a Trek fan but have always wanted to try it. Wish they had been more open about this,I could have had the discs sent out early enough to get them.
#33 Posted by Fattony12000 (7092 posts) -
@Dtat: I know, right!? It seems like I'm the only one in the entirety of youtube.com who makes playlists for stuff, all these people go to the effort of uploading great videos, BUT THEN DON'T CREATE A MOTHERLOVING PLAYLIST FOR IT.

JUST ENERGISE THAT SHIT O'BRIEN.

Yea, the inclusion of Jaffa Cakes and Apple didn't clue you in to the sarcasm there? Sorry but your the second person in this thread to get mad at that when its clearly Clearly sarcasm? Jesus people read.

I meant they left it out of their selection.

I would recommend to watch these to get into the right frame of mind before attending the marathon ;)
#38 Posted by Fattony12000 (7092 posts) -
@SinGulaR: Actually, if you haven't watched that episode yet, or if it's been a long time since you've since it, I would recommend NOT watching that. Wait until you've seen it for yourself before checking out spoilers and whatnot.

What I WOULD recommend is that you watch other great episodes not included in the livestream list, such as...

Chain of Command

Love <3

#40 Posted by Mr_JPeps (164 posts) -

thank you, thank you, thank you!!! so much for the episodes for us all to watch who do not have them, & the playlist stuff is slick. another reason why Giant Bomb & that community behind it is one of a kind! Great Job   @ Fattony12000

Holy pirate streaming batman! Crazy!

#42 Posted by Anthony (231 posts) -

The youtube list is so great. I'm not going to take out all the DVDs to watch these episodes, way too lazy for that. Thanks!

Well this can't be legal Fattony12000, not that I care! Whoop whooop whooooop!

#49 Posted by MagikGimp (776 posts) -
@Doctorchimp:  Dude, I think they're watching it because it's a day of Star Trek, what other reason do you need? lol
Actually, I think the idea is terrible. Marathons just make me sick (physically and of things) and besides, I'd need to watch EVERY episode! Just not at once...
#50 Posted by RobbyGreene (27 posts) -

Dude thank you so much for compiling all this! I am beyond excited to see what the guys have to say about Darmok my absolute favorite episode!
