You should probably have some words to go along with that link...

That being said that not terrible, it's fucking amazing. I wish my PD website looked like it was made in 1997 and played Massive Attack.

Its absolutely fucking amazing. Dat Tennessee.

Yea, you need a solid paragraph, talking about the website. Or life of strange clown crimes in your city. Something.

So...many...Eagles and... American flags waving in electronic breeze! I have to sit down because all pure-uncut AMerica is making me woozy.

Is this viral marketing for a 90's cop show, like The Office but for cops? Because this surely can't be real...can it?

Also holy shit is Thor the police chief?

Nothing says "protect and serve" like fucking lightning bolts.

#10 Edited by wjb (1674 posts) -

I don't see a problem. Maybe Massive Attack does, though?

Totally thought that said Cockville at first, too.

I'd be more concerned with their hiring of David Duke"s".....as a Major, none the less. That additional "s" isn't fooling anyone, Duke.

Thought that said cookieville

Upgrade your flash player to view this site.

Guess you're not supposed to view it on a mobile device.

#14 Posted by TruthTellah (9310 posts) -

Um, that's amazing. Giant Bomb needs a Cookeville website makeover.

#15 Edited by 49th (2783 posts) -

I can't believe that this is a real police website. Holy shit.

Did a giraffe love a zebra? What animal is that avatar?..

Did a giraffe love a zebra? What animal is that avatar?..

It's a zebra with a rare birth defect which causes light-colored stripes. They generally only survive in captivity, as the defect isn't conducive to life in the wild.

Here's another picture of it:

@theabidingdude: This is the greatest website I have ever seen. Or at least the most entertaining of my night... which might not be ideal for a police department.

#25 Edited by BigJeffrey (5076 posts) -

This is the best website ive ever seen

#26 Posted by mbdoeden (189 posts) -

For the full experience for those who can't view the site because of Flash, this is what is playing in the background (its the first 55 seconds then it stops)

Oh shit i missed out this looks crazy. Like early 00's .com

#34 Edited by Ben_H (3381 posts) -

That is so amazing.

I contemplated doing something similar for my personal website, just as a joke. But then I figured if I am going to be having that as a thing on my resume that might not be the best plan. I still might do it.

Also, that site shot the load amount across the 8 threads of my i7 up to around 25% overall from 2%. That is an impressive amount of resources needed.

Well, I am leery of the police in the main. But I have mostly met run of the mill to some actually decent ones in my life. One time they did tear up my glove compartment and aimed guns at me because they thought I was the bad guy they were looking for.

A site like that interests me to how in-group, as a tribe so to speak, these police perceive themselves. A lot of dark dramatic tension and stuff. I actually like the music before it develops too far.

Perhaps they see themselves unknowingly like Space Marines.

I get the vibe that it should be like, the title screen of some shitty MTV show.

In other words, totally rad bro.

#41 Posted by Sterling (2456 posts) -

OP made the website for them, and is now trying to flood traffic to it by posting about how "cheesy" it is on websites.

What breed of cops does cookeville have, they certainly don't seem to be normal... Are they robots? Are they aliens trying to imitate human behavior based on a limited number of cop movies they have seen?

#49 Posted by Max_Cherry (1136 posts) -

I didn't know police departments had websites. Aren't you suppose to call those people? I doubt a 911 email would be very effective.

#50 Posted by Red12b (9084 posts) -

That's the best website,

they have Massive attack as their background music!

That's fucking Awesome!
