A lot less tame than the Presidential debate. Anyone else watching?
This vice presidential debate is getting REALLY heated

Why would I? It's the Vice Presidential debate, and if I understand American politics correctly, the Vice President's power amounts to absolutely nothing.

@Video_Game_King: I guess totalitarian moonarian regimes have no need of shared power I presume?
What power is being shared?
I haven't been, but Twitter just went from usual snark to absolutely insane lengths of Biden promotion. Seriously, this came up over just a few minutes ago.
"Biden is walking away from explosions without looking back." - @Rick Dietz
"Biden explaining; that's why we're sending AFGHANS to do the work. (Repeats) Ryan has no comeback." -@ebertchicago
"biden didn't just shut up ryan, he shut up the whole fucking building." -@aegies
"Holy shit. Just drop the mic after this." -@bradshoemaker
"After watching this debate, I am more convinced then ever that Joe Biden types Emails with the caps lock on #VPdebate" -@delbaum
"Watch out Joe! Ryan can name all four seasons and two Afghan cities! He was reading while he did those bicep curls." -@sydneemcelroy
"And here we go." -@kirkhamilton

Any republicans or moderates in that list?
Biden is kicking the shit out of Ryan. I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan replaced that constantly present water of his with vodka.
Biden has been sort of a douche, and I really hate how biased this moderator is, but Ryan has been steam rolled in this debate.
@Aetheldod:
It doesn't help that Moonarian isn't a word. (My auto-translate has no clue how to handle that phrase.) It's Lunarian. I'm Lunarian (Senastian, if you want to be specific).

In character commentary!

It is still fairly important in symbolically allowing the presidential candidates to differentiate themselves (e.g. a young (relatively for politics) guy picking a real old dude to be vice, or making up for a possibly perceived party split).
Hard to care though. Living in nothing close to a "swing" state, there are not even presidential related advertisements here.

Aw man. We should go to the Moon and start a party there.

そして、説明しろ。
Now that it's over I can say that this debate was a lot better than the first. The abortion question offered a clear distinction with the Romney/Ryan ticket only supporting abortion in the case of rape, incest, or life of the mother and the Obama/Biden ticket giving the choice to women and their doctors.

.. Will you ever get tired of this? I assume you're an adult man.
Shhh..we don't talk about it. He doesn't know.
@JasonR86: Don't know most of the people involved well enough to say. Probably not, but they were generally just snarky about the previous debate and even admitted that Romney won. It was surprising to see people that excited about goddamned Joe Biden. I've affectionately called the man "Spud" for the last year or so because he seemed roughly as harmless. If he's mobilizing people (and I do mean SNARKY people) in droves, that's going to be very effective.

What don't I know? Something about myself? I'm confused as to how you would gather this information.

*slowly lifts up mirror to @Video_Game_King:'s face*
@Aegon:
Huh? All I see is Eltosian's face. So what? I think you guys already know about my powers. *taps crown a couple times to make that point*
Isn't the vice-presidential debates traditionally more heated, as it's not as much about the personalities and more about the policies ? They're basically just there as proxies to represent the policy of the presidents, so they can be more blunt and honest about the whole thing. Having that said I realized something sorta weird while watching it. Republicans are saying "Americans needs to take responsibility for themselves, but we need to take responsibility for the world", while Democrats are saying the complete opposite. There's some really strange cognitive dissonance there.
It's also really strange how they both have these very "good/bad" sides. It made me think that what the US really needs is a financially responsible Democrat, which made me realize why Clinton was so popular. It just seems so strange that none of them realize that if they put some real work on their weak side rather than just continue harping on their strong side they would win in a landslide.
Biden was terrible. Disrespectful, blamed intelligence community, blamed bush, cited incorrect numbers, arrogant etc.
No one that supports Obama will see that of course.

that's because you're fucking wrong? goddamn. Were you not actually watch the debate? Ryan was out of his goddamn league, his closing statement sounded like he was trying to sell me a car

I google image searched Eltosian and this is the first human face I came across.
Hmmm

It really depends on who is participating in debates. The 2008 vice presidential debate was as void of policy discussion as one can get.
On a slightly unrelated topic, the media coverage has become quite trash. I constantly saw tweets popping up on screen during the debate and right now the news anchors are discussing the memes that emerged during this debate.
It was clear how much more experienced Biden is than Ryan. Ryan was completely outplayed at every turn.@Flawed_System said:

@Aegon:
Localization can be like that. (This is the Eltosian I became.)
This presidential race might as well be a wrestling storyline. I can identify heels, faces, I can tell you narrative peaks and valleys and victories both minor and major for all characters. There's rising action and exposition and, eventually, the direct conflict.
I even know who's going to win. And it will probably involve a steel chair or two.
