Yeah, I know. TMZ. Personally I'll wait for confirmation from another source, but nonetheless, apparently Paul Walker died in in a fiery crash today at the age of 40.

I know the community has an appreciation for the Fast and Furious movies, and we joke about Walker's acting, but I would be seriously bummed out if this turns out to be true.

Edit: On the other hand, there's this that says that this was a hoax. Again, gonna wait for official confirmation.

Edit #2: CBS Local and other local sites report that the 2 deceased have yet to be identified.

Edit #3: It's been confirmed. Fucking 2013.

Does it make me a terrible person that the first place my brain went was the intense irony of the star of The Fast and the Furious dying in a car wreck? Yes? I thought so. :(

I really hope this isn't true. I have given him quite a bit of shit over the years, but this is still a total bummer.

TMZ may be horrible, but they're accurate. This really sucks.

It was reported he died yesterday which turned out to be a hoax.

Now TMZ is reporting it.

So either he's alive and well, or he died the day after he was reported to have died.

That mediamass site is a hoax site that generates fakes hoax stories.

You can type a bunch of names into that url and get the same story

@gorillamopena: Local news sites are reporting the crash now, so it's probably true.

I hope this isn't true. I was super bummed when Ryan Dunn died in a car crash. I don't need another one of these.

God damn it. Today sucks.

I don't know but everyone seems to be reporting it now. Not the biggest fan of his but have grown to...appreciate his style of acting.

I'd personally avoid the low hanging fruit, a life was taken away people. If that human life has comedic value to take a punch at a film series he did to make a living then we have very different ideas of how to respect those who have died under horrific circumstances.

Some people use humor to cope.

#41 Posted by EveretteScott (1532 posts) -

@wolfgame:
everyone reacts to death differently. Not everyone gets somber and upset over it. Especially if it's someone that has in no way affected their life personally. Not to say I'd talk shit about someone passing though, just pointing stuff out.

#42 Posted by NMC2008 (1237 posts) -

Never seeing any of the F&F movies I don't know him too well as an actor, but it's a damn shame he went out this way and this early.

RIP.

#43 Edited by Yummylee (22572 posts) -

Jesus. I can't say I'm much of a fan of his, but nonetheless, 40 is far too young for anybody to go.

#44 Edited by ManMadeGod (1585 posts) -

Looks like he was the passenger in the car. His friend must have decided to go a little too fast in the Porsche and lost control.

He was not a good actor at all.

He was also the greatest actor of our generation.

I never thought I could care about Paul Walker but god damn, that sucks. It's going to be weird not having him in the next Fast and Furious movies with the rest of the gang.

This completely and utterly bums me out, especially as an extremely huge fan of the Fast movies. I'm at least glad he didn't die from some crippling drug or alcohol addiction though. Just a tragic accident. I feel so bad for all of his family and friends.

The fact that he died while attending a charity event too...man....
