The queen just comes off as "I'M BETTER THAN YOU!" with all the expensive crap and all the ceremonies that revolve around her.

The Queen does have some powers which she could technically still enforce and if a stricter monarch came in down the line he/she would be in their rights to use them. These include being able to dissolve and introduce a new government and as head of the army being able to declare war. However if any of our inbred German monarch were to try and establish themselves as a true monarch they would be completely ignored and laughed out of the country, theyre only there truly for tourism.

How do the royal family make a living? Do they get money from the government for being special? Or does Lizzie work part-time at a burger king?

I never found nothing wrong with having a Queen as a ruler (or in the real world, a head for the country).

And England was never supposed to be a constitutional monarchy, but an absolute one.

@Austin: Her husband is Prince Philip. In England there can't be a Queen and a King at the same time. The King or Queen's spouse in considered a Prince or Princess.
