I've enjoyed a lot of FPS over the years, but I feel only 2 were truly revolutionary, life changing experiences :

Doom and Quake

Those two really blew my socks off. Graphics, new gameplay, online play in Quake (Team Fortress and Quakeworld).

I could say stuff like Halo and UT99 and Half Life 2, which I consider some of my favorite FPS games, but it'd be impossible for me to say which of those I enjoy/enjoyed more and why. They were just excellent games, not mind-blowing.
