Are there any of you here?
If so, I'm trying to get into this music scene but I'm totally not familiar at all, got an recommendations?
Trance Music Fans
Ah, my best friend loves that kind of music. Though I don't. Try a girl by the name Jennifer Rene. I don't know if you'll like her. But my friends thinks shes the shit.
Above & Beyond are probably my favourite out there. While their album Tri-State is pretty good, always look out for their mixes. Not to mention their side project OceanLab is pretty good for laidback trance though, again, the Above & Beyond club mixes of those tracks are classic. Besides that, look for BT, Ronski Speed, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren and even though a lot of people aren't fans, Tiesto.
"All of this, plus I'm a breaks boy at heart. Nothing beats a nice crunchy break for my ill-deserved cash.House/French House, and Electro is better! :DGood House/Electro artists: Daft Punk, Justice, Kavinsky, SebastiAn, Surkin, Boys Noize, The Subs, Danger, Para One, Ratatat, Strip Steve, Dr. Lektroluv, and more!Yeah it isn't Trance but its my duty to provide other options. :PMy problem with regular techno/trance that the songs dont vary enough to where there is a large block of trance songs that just end up sounding generic. But thats just me."
I love trance! Tiesto's remix of Paul Oakenfold's "Southern Sun" was the song that propelled me into the genre. As far as recommendations I'd say Handsomedead is spot on, although I have to add Paul Van Dyk , Dave 202 and Paul Oakenfold (give Creamfields a listen and you'll love it!)
I used to love trance back in the 90s/early 2000s when it was still good, but nowadays it seems they only produce tech trance (techno trance) with too large a focus on vocals IMO. I attended Trance Energy (biggest trance event in the world) last year and all of the "main stage" sets (where all the bigger names play) certainly fit that description. Lots of people complained on forums afterwards that it wasn't what they wanted to hear.
Here are a few classics I remember fondly from my childhood:
If you like this kind of stuff I would recommend looking up more trance from that era.
"Also try:I really enjoy Infected Mushroom. Although their more recent stuff hasn't been as good, you still might want to check them out.
"
" It's always seemed to me like the only time people ever listen to "trance" is when they are at raves doing drugs. "Only to you. It's true that the Trace music grew out of Rave parties but people Listen to it at home....and doing drugs, On the bus or Train....On drugs...LOL
