Hello folks.

In a month I will be building myself a new PC for the first time so I'm in the process of getting my digital affairs in order. I've recently noticed that I have music split between my My Music folder and my iTunes library, meaning that some music appears in one place and not the other. I'm not sure why this is the case.

Does anyone know of a way to consolidate all of the music on my computer into one place so I can throw it all on an external hard drive and move it over to my new PC? While we're at it, how do I see where iTunes is seeing my music if it's not the My Music folder?

Thanks duders.

Search your C drive for *.mp3

Select all of them and copy / paste to an external drive.

Alternatively, if you have no external drive, sign up for Google Music (it's free) and have it upload your iTunes library. You can download all of the songs you had uploaded when you log in on your new machine.

Hahaha excellent! It's so simple.

I'm laughing so much right now, thank you for the help. Not sure why I didn't think of that!
