@zero315: Nope, Inception is one of the best movies ever IMO.

Yes, that was the same hotel. The Standard Hotel, which sits right next to the West Side Highway.

Definitely not the same room, probably not the same building.

Also, I didn't like Shame at all. Just such a pointless movie. Even more pointless than Black Swan.

Thems fightin' words.

What he said.

You monster.

Oh so she's just insane...pointless.

It's not that she's insane, it's about how far someone is willing to go for their art. I think it's one of the best films of the last 5 years and it really does match up with the wrestler as a double bill. Both films about trying to achieve perfection in your art, not matter how high or low and how the characters end up going to such extreme lengths to do so. Perhaps I got that because I studied an Artistic subject but it really really resonated with me.

Shame is also amazing.

According to Jeff's tumblr, they've shot actual porn at the Standard Hotel as well.

Anonymous asked:

Did you know that there's a porn recorded recently in the room you were at when unboxing the PS4? It's called Tonight's Girlfriend, with Audrey Bitoni and Nicole Aniston. It's really good

- Jeff: Apparently that hotel’s big floor-to-ceiling windows attract a specific type of customer.

I mean, it's highly unlikely it was the same room as the one Jeff was in, but still.

This can only mean one thing...

Playstation porn.

Well that explains it all.

I'm sorry, you fault Black Swan for a lack of character development and a reliance on the twist, but you like Inception? That movie has no character development outside of Leo's character, everyone around him is just a gang of necessary cardboard cut-out characters to get the plot in motion, and it completely relies on the twists and revelations. I'd even argue that Black Swan isn't about any twist but about the moment to moment ambiguity and the tension it evokes. Inception is just one big ride to a popcorn twist that is more exciting on paper and exists completely separate from the flat characters and their world.

Then there's the actual filmmaking. Aronofsky has got the edge over Nolan in so many ways it's not even funny.

I don't even like Black Swan that much but c'mon. Your argument doesn't really hold water. Just say you like plot-driven movies better?

I love that it started out as "maybe this sex scene from this movie that was pretty raw was in this room??" and then "Nah straight up porno". Giant Bomb finds their way to porno shoot locations. Somehow and some way.

I hope that's somewhere in the hotel's brochure. "We are the #1 Destination for "Jackhammer a Prostitute Next to the Window and Maybe Someone Outside Will See It."

Come for the Jeff sex scenes, stay for the murder of film culture.

@bbqbram: Dude, let it go. He's allowed to have an opinion that's different from yours. Need I remind you that this thread is about a hotel room where two actors had simulated sex. It shouldn't be about bashing one user for his differing movie tastes.

Did you look carefully at my responses? None of them mentioned character development specifically. I said "progression" and "development", nothing more. I even mentioned and described the types of movies I tend not to like, so that question was pointless.

And for the record, the growth of one character is better than none.

Also, what @jsnyder82 said.

I like how this thread has slowly evolved into a thread about how good or bad "Shame" was. I thought Shame was actually a pretty good film and you could literally take sex out of it and replace it with any addiction and it'd still express the same meaning.

4/5 Puppies.

I did not know what to expect when clicking this thread, but the lack of Jeff Gerstmann sex scene footage has left me somewhat disappointed.

it's the PS4 unboxing hotel. They mentioned it in the podcast I believe it was the same hotel a sex scene was filmed, the same room even.

Another theory is that Jeff Gerstmann is actually an alter ego of The Rap Man and is still at large.
