Nope. I think he is fine to draw the line in the sand just so much as there wasn't any unprovoked physicality initated by your dad which by all counts there wasn't. If I were a father I'd be insanely protective of my daughter as well.

Yes. It's absolutely unacceptable that he brought a giant squid home for Christmas.
