Most comedies are hated critically, but it's probably my favorite genre (though Im not about to plop down money to see Grown Ups or anything). Dumb action movies like The Fast and The Furious are pretty awesome too. Also I think I usually have more fun watching movies with 1% on Rotten Tomatoes then I do watching movies with 100%. There's a huge discrepancy between my tastes and film critics, which makes finding a movie podcast really hard.
What bad movies do you like?
No Retreat, No Surrender 3. It's got every 80s cliche apart from somebody playing a saxophone on their balcony in a storm while net curtains swirl about. Please somebody say Aztec Rex for theirs.
Adam Sandler movies, but only if certain conditions are met.
- I'm extremely bored.
- I have a problematic event coming up
I should note that despite being really bored, I couldn't finish Jack and Jill.

I love You Don't Mess With The Zohan, that movie's hilarious. RoboGeisha was pretty fantastic, but I dunno if I can call either of those "bad movies" because they absolutely did what they set out to do. And the fourth Resident Evil movie is probably atrocious, but I love the bad cosplayer they hired to play Wesker.
Also, I adore The Room and Birdemic: Shock and Terror, but it's not like I don't love those because they're abominable pieces of shit. Troll 2 was surprisingly entertaining, but I wouldn't go so far as to say I like it. I have a fondness for it, though.

Big Trouble in Little China is my default answer.
Spaceballs
These responses confuse me, though; are these not just straight-up good movies? I mean, low-budget, sure, but I wouldn't ever think to call them bad, at least not so long as anyone tells me anything by Monty Python is good. (Although I kind of revile Spaceballs at this point due to a group of friends that are overly-referential.)
I guess. I'm looking at it from a standpoint of 80's action movies - we can all agree Commando is corny as shit, as is Cobra, but those are awesome movies... "good" is such a subjective term, I think those movies are good, but they aren't "good" movies if you know what I mean.
Everyone has their guilty cinematic pleasure. What's yours?Starship troopers was basically a rip/study on nazi propaganda films, so many elements and cheese was intentional. My movie pick is crank 2. That is some amazing work for a shoestring budget.
I'd have to say Starship Troopers. The movie features horrible acting, horrible battle scenes, and a laughable script, but I still enjoy it. It's satirical view of fascism is something I always find entertaining.

Thankskilling is a pretty great bad movie.
That actually got made?! I thought that was just a joke trailer for Grindhouse!
idunno. is Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure a bad movie?
I like the first and third Bourne movies even though they are kind of silly action movies.
Come on people most of the movies mentioned here aren't really bad movies. My first one is Joe Dirt which I hated the first time I saw it but each time I see it I like it more. So over the years my love of that movie exponentially grown. It's to the point where I'm pretty sure its not a bad movie but actually good.
Another one of my terrible favorites is Leprechaun 4: In Space. Which I found OnDemand one afternoon and it was a magical afternoon I'll tell you. Probably about the only time I found myself just dumbfound by what I was seeing. I think I might have laughed until I cried at some point.
Star wars I & III (I hate attack of the clones), and the 1st 3rd and 5th fast movies. The first transformer movie I enjoy too
I enjoy Kung Pow Enter the Fist, it's pretty dumb overall and some parts like the cow matrix parody thing have really dated, but there are some hilariously silly bits when it's just dubbing the old footage they found. I also enjoy the first Transformers, film but I don't think that one was as critically reviled as the others or fans anyway (that being said I find both the sequels exceedingly dull)
I recently watched the Tony Jaa film Warrior King, the fight scenes are some of the best I've ever seen, unfortunately the rest of the film is a fucking mess with some of the worst acting ever plus an almost nonsensical plot that jumps around way too much.
However as an ex film student this scene in particular impressed me because long takes are so bloody hard to do well.
Watch it from 0:20 - 4:05
The 1998 American Godzilla movie with Matthew Broderick, Maria Pitillo looking all doe-eyed and Hank Azaria crackin' jokes. I can't wait for the new one coming out from Legendary Pictures. I love Godzilla movies of all decades, even the 1970's when he befriended small children.

Like even the fourth one?

If you haven't already, you should watch him in Ong Bak 2. Fucking amazing fight scenes, but the movie is really boring.
I never knew there was so much hate towards The Boondock Saints. I don't necessarily mean on this thread, but It has a 17% on RottenTomatoes. Seriously? I never even thought to check RT before now. I always thought that was one of those movies that was just universally accepted as being an overall "good movie". I know different people can have different opinions, but it's instances like this that make me wonder if I watched the same movie that they did.
Fuck. Yes. I admit it. But they're so addictively bad. I need help. Hold me, I'm falling deeper into this destructive pit. I will probably go see the newest one too.@MariachiMacabre said:

Howard the Duck.
fuck yeah!
I don't really keep up with movies enough to know what's "bad" but i remember liking Nothing But Trouble, The Garbage Pale Kids Movie and Street Trash.
...some people say Big Trouble in Little China's bad so who are they to judge.

Or ones that are kind of self-aware-tongue-in-cheek bad, but not bad, like Tremors?
Tremors is the greatest movie of all time...
@TheSouthernDandy said:
Tremors is legitimately great. I've watched that movie more times then I care to admit.
Megashark vs Crocosaurus and Megashark vs Giant Octopus have blended together into one awful wonderful train wreck. Also Debbie Gibson and Urkle. You can't make this stuff up.
Damn right!
and also on that same note, Shark Attack 3 is tolerable for the sweet sweet comical payoff you get from the special effects.

Maybe I should've put more emphasis on the "self-aware-tongue-in-cheek bad, but not bad" part. That's part of what makes it fun is that it's completely aware of how ridiculous it is, and makes no attempt to force the audience to take it seriously. It uses the elements that would commonly be seen as B-Movie cheese in most movies as a way to make it more entertaining by just going with it.

I have similar feelings when it comes to Starship Troopers, which I mentioned in the OP. I get the joke, but there is no denying the movie is going for a certain satirical presentation of macho-facism by having some over the top acting and cheesy dialogue. Just figured I'd mention it because I am getting a lot of PM's lately along the lines of, "Starship Troopers is a genius piece of work and you just too stupid to get it bro, it's really amazing what are u downs? Maybe go back to watching Michael Bay trash.!!!!111"
Also, four years ago.
@Grimhild: oh, i knew what you meant. i was just scrolling through and looking for other movies that i thought i'd like to add.
Also i'd like to add that i really like completely amateur movies, and not just of the porno variety, i mean when people get together and just make feature length movie with no sense of cinematic design...there's a folky charm to it.
But in the end, all movies are great thanks to MST3K and Rifftrax.

They're just giving me some good-natured ribbing, we's all friends hehehe. But, yes. I guess it's hard for some people to understand that it's possible to enjoy something on multiple levels that doesn't take itself so seriously. For me, things don't have to be completely this way or that for me to enjoy it. There's nothing inherently wrong about it, it's just what different people choose to get from the experience. Like in Starship Troopers, I can enjoy it for it's ridiculous balls to the wall action scenes, or stylized satire of a militarized propaganda machine, while also chuckling at the logic of having someone's brains sucked out through a straw to get military intelligence.
EDIT:
Also, +1 for Dr. Strangelove.
@FengShuiGod: Wow, really? Yeah it's definitely not good enough to get that bent out of shape over. Not that any movie is really but if you're gonna get your back up over Starship Troopers...ok then.

Hot Fuzz. I don't think people would consider it bad but I don't think many people know about it.Pretty sure that If I asked anyone ages 25-15 they'd know about this movie.
Well, here in the UK anyway,
Yeah i'm pretty sure most people in the UK know about Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. Simon Pegg is Britains biggest film comedian right now.
