Good books...

I'm reading 'Stranger in a Strange Land' by Robert A. Heinlein right now. It's freaking fantastic.

Now this is what I call a Science Fiction classic!

I recently finished the book "Fight Club". Next up is "Invisible Monsters" or "Choke", also written by Chuck Palahniuk. I love books and movies that includes controversial and disturbing content. Makes your mind go crazy and solve "the big mysteries" of life.

I am currently reading Mötley Crüe: The Dirt. A pretty good book if your into the "band biography" type books. Next up is the self-biography Marilyn Manson wrote. After that i really need to get back to A Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy again and read it for the 1000th time :)

Edit: All five in the series of course :)

I read books off and on, I have an annoying habit where I'll start reading a book, then get sidetracked by all the other things in my life and inevitably stop reading the book. I hate doing that, I have a nice library of books that need reading, and I intend on reading them, I just wish I had more time in the day.

But here are two books that I'm trying to read all the way through, but as I said, it's difficult to do.

Still at the beginning of this.
Still at the beginning of this.

The movie wasn't too bad, but I heard the book was excellent, so I picked it up. Liking it for the most part.

Still at the beginning of this.

Through word of mouth and because of the movie, I decided to pick this up. Also it's written by the same guy that wrote No Country for Old Men, which I really enjoyed the movie version, despite its terrible ending.

The movie or the novel? I haven't finished the novel yet but there are some very explicit themes that wouldn't fit well for film. I loved the film and enjoying my read of the book.

@ThePhantomnaut: I read the novel before I saw the movie. As you say some of the parts in the novel wouldn't be appropriate to have in the movie. But I think that a little more of the stomach-wrenching parts of the novel should have been in the movie too. Just to give it a little more Oumph :)

I work at a book store at the moment, so I am reading a lot. I find a lot of interesting books, and sometimes end up reading three or four at a time.

A dark fantasy book, it's pretty good. The first one in its series.
I found out about it in a newspaper. Apparently this book was #1 for three years until just recently when "Metro 2033" passed it, which i'm also thinking of getting.

An interesting book to be sure, though a bit longwinded once you are through it all.

IM reading Blood of Elves - this is the first full novel about the Witcher, which the game is based on, which I will play after finishing!  After that is the Dragon Age Origins novel.

Read The Road the other day and just finished The Giver.  I spent a day on each, they read pretty quick.  I'm finishing Shogun now.  I started it awhile ago but the book broke in half at the spine so I just got a new copy.

I'm currently reading 2001: A Space Odyssey and really enjoying it; it's kind of slow, but I quite like that, it works in an epidodic kind of way where you can view each cahapter as an episode and each part as a season of sorts, so I've been reading it alongside other stuff for about 6 months because I keep just reading little chunks of it at a time.

I've read most of his novels, he's one of my favourite authors I particularly enjoyted Rant so if you haven't read that you should pick it up, oh and I just finished the Wasp Factory by Iain Banks which is majorly fucked up, you should check that out too. My girlfriend and I sometimes try and gross eachother out with graphic descriptions from Chuck Palahniuk novels at awkward times.

I thought it would be a good idea to try and read Joyce's Ulysses.  Having read a couple of pages, I don't think I think so anymore.  :D
But I'll keep going for a little while. Maybe it'll grow on me.
