I played Mario Kart. How about you?
I didn't know it was down. I watched the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland movie this morning while it was though. I thought it was okay, but it felt too "safe" for me. There wasn't enough insanity in it, and either Burton or his Disney overlords weren't able to figure out how to balance the absurdity and the sweetness (apparently) required for a mainstream movie. The film started out good, but by the end felt very uneven and formulaic. However, it didn't truly upset me because (like Bram Stoker's Dracula) I don't think Carroll's books can be brought to the screen adequately because of the way they are written. Considering how much money the movie made, I suspect there will be a sequel even if it doesn't need one. A new Wizard of Oz would be a better idea, although I hear Todd MacFarlane (Spawn) is involved so I expect more action and a bustier Dorothy. L. Frank Baum wrote 14 Oz books, plus other authors have carried on the story with an addition 26 books. Lots of source material for a franchise.
