My worst fears...they are gonna drag this show on.

I saw a stream of it on a site I can't mention, and as with the comic...I'll watch more of it as it goes on.  I HATED the first Arc of the comic, so I'm going to hate the first season of this show.

Goddamnit, just get to the Governor ASAP.

Wow. It was SO GOOD.
I've been a huge fan of the comics for a while and i was really hoping the show would deliver. It totally did. It was pretty faithful to the source material overall and the cast did a great job.
I am really happy with what I've seen so far. Super hyped for next weeks episode.

I didn't see it yet since because it comes on in 30 mins and I want to see it in good quality?

#5 Posted by KaosAngel (13765 posts) -
@SethPhotopoulos: ...a lot of the streams are offered in HD.  The thing has been leaked for almost a week now.  :\

@KaosAngel:
The governor stuff wouldn't be as effective without the early character development though.
I thought that stuff was good too but it got a little uncomfortable for me to be honest. Some of that shit was pretty brutal.
I think it's gonna be a while though before the series gets there, probably a few seasons if it lasts that long.

Don't give me a whatever face because I feel like waiting to see something!  Blasphemy I say!

@audiosnag: You can not stretch out each issue into an hour.  That shit will die quick then.  Get 3 or 4 issues into an hour episode and it'll be fine.

Man, I never liked the first Arc of the comic so my opinion isn't really fair on the first season of this show.  >.>

I missed it and am very upset, I heard it was good.

#10 Posted by BionicMonster (1032 posts) -
@Mikemcn: its coming on in 20 minutes, how did you miss it?
#11 Posted by KaosAngel (13765 posts) -
@BionicMonster: He might be one of those rare Europeans I hear about, I heard they're a few hours into the future.
#12 Posted by audiosnag (1604 posts) -
@KaosAngel:
Yeah that's cool, i think we're looking at it from two different viewpoints. I'm almost the opposite, i liked the early stuff a bit better and would like to see it stretched out a bit. Regardless i hope this show lasts I'd love to see the governor stuff. Shit got CRAZY.

What are you guys talking about? It's not on for another 15 minutes.

#15 Posted by audiosnag (1604 posts) -
@KaosAngel:
Haha yeah I'm wondering how much of that stuff they're actually gonna show. I assumed not much but the first episode was pretty gory.

They said that as long as they don't say fuck they can do whatever they want.

I don't think I have the channel it's on. Hopefully somebody puts a torrent online tonight so I can stream it to my 360.

Edit:
Actually, I just checked and it's airing in about 4 minutes. Thank you for this thread!

It's great so far.

An AMC series adaptation of a popular Zombie comic.  The show is developed by Frank Darabont.

#26 Posted by Spoonman671 (4554 posts) -

I'm waiting to finish the comic series before watching it, and I'm waiting for the comic series to end before I start reading it.

You might have a long wait. Have they talked about ending it anytime soon?
#28 Posted by TurboMan (7393 posts) -

I know nothing about the comic, but I really enjoy the show....

It has a real huge No Country For Old Men vibe to it... maybe because it seems to have no score whatsoever

#29 Posted by Milkman (16514 posts) -

I was out tonight so I didn't see it but I'll be sure to check it out soon.

#30 Posted by teh_destroyer (3561 posts) -

Must find an alternative route to watch it because I don't have cable.

#31 Posted by Barrock (3525 posts) -

Simply amazing. I hope this show goes on for 84 more seasons.

#32 Posted by SethPhotopoulos (5094 posts) -

Great.

#33 Posted by DeShawn2ks (1052 posts) -

Loved it, as for what they can pull off in the show. Well one scene showed a little zombie girl getting her brains blown out and they showed everything. So I have faith they will stay true to the more graphic stuff.

#34 Posted by Hourai (2795 posts) -

That was really fucking good. I'm going to watch the rest of this show for sure.

#35 Posted by Akrid (1356 posts) -

Very good show. Anyone see Gary Whitta?

#36 Posted by DeShawn2ks (1052 posts) -
@Akrid:  Was he the zombie they showed more than once as soon as Rick got to ATL?
#37 Posted by NikoAlexander57 (359 posts) -

It was soooooo goooood. I love the comic and now I love the show.

#38 Posted by Redbullet685 (6024 posts) -

The beginning scene with the little girl was very surprising. The horse getting ripped apart was also surprising. They are definitely going all out with the gore in this show. I love it.

I enjoy some old-fashioned slow-walking zambies. I watch very little on TV as it is, but I can get behind this.

#40 Posted by The_Drizzle (624 posts) -

Really strong premiere, can't wait for next Sunday. I feel like they captured the right atmosphere really well

#41 Posted by SlightConfuse (3963 posts) -

The production value of was amazing. show that comics can be adapted to tv withut be campy. i cant wait for the next episode.
they captured thr essence of the comic especially with Rick's mindset

#42 Posted by JeanLuc (3571 posts) -

Pretty good.
I'll definitely keep watching.

#43 Posted by weegieanawrench (1935 posts) -

I thought it was pretty damn cool. I can't wait for more and maybe I'll even start reading the comic.

Nope. He says on the podcast he was wearing pajamas and a bathrobe. Probably never got any screen time with the amount of extras they had.
#45 Posted by Chango (502 posts) -

I thought it was a pretty fantastic premiere.

#46 Posted by cstrang (2381 posts) -

It was okay.  A little slow, but I have faith they're gonna pick up the action shortly.  I kind of/sort of am looking forward to the tensions that are gonna arise between the sheriff and the deputy.

But I agree, there need not be any of this dragging-out bullshit.

#47 Posted by audiosnag (1604 posts) -

I loved the scene where they were cutting from Rick and the zombie in the park to Morgan and his wife.
The music and the performances were so great. That was one of my favorite parts.

#48 Edited by DeShawn2ks (1052 posts) -
@audiosnag:  Yeah that was a pretty good scene. To see Frank Darabont take a throw away part from the first part of the comic book and flesh it out like that put my fears to rest. The only thing that sucks about it is the actor who played Morgan Jones did a really good job and I would like to see him back much sooner rather than later.
#49 Posted by audiosnag (1604 posts) -
@DeShawn2ks:
Totally agree with pretty much all of that. It was interesting to see him being faithful to the source material while adding in something new and both parts working together so well. I remember in an interview he talked about expanding or detouring a bit while keeping to the main story so hopefully Morgan comes back down the road.

Loved every minute of it..the little boy was kind of annoying but hes already growing on me!
plus hes such a cutie & it was so funny watching him dance in the shower =]
I have to admit (SPOILER ALERT) I was pretty frickin sad when that horse got torn to pieces & eaten =[ *tear*
I can't wait to see more of the show tho..
