DVD TV series are the worst. They play the damn intro every fucking episode! What the hell? I just paid for the damn shit I know what the fuck I'm watching!
I thought DVD's were stupid when they were initially released, since VHS's were already great and I didn't want to buy everything again, and I didn't like that DVD's are fragile and can ge scratched, or how PS2's never had working DVD players, or how they had dumb menu's and stuff you couldn't skip. Bt after watching some old VHS porn on a 56 inch HDTV, I can safely say DVD's are superior.
I've never scratched a DVD (or CD) enough for it to not work, I don't know you people are doing to them. Intros don't bother me, but the fucking advertisements do. And the "this action can't be preformed here" thing.
Who cares about the rewind thing anyway? If your using a good DVD player it'll pick it up right where you stopped it anyway.
"I'm lazy, and I'm sure a lot of people are too."
Thank you. Also, I agree with a lot of these points, but I rarely buy DVD's unless it's a film I simply love and know I'll view multiple times.
Eh, I like em. I have enough of them though, so I guess I'm kinda biased...
I never have a problem with security tags and such unless they put the fuckers on the insert for the movie. Discs not working is something you have to expect, given that it's a mass manufacturing ordeal. Simple return policies help solve that quick. Not being able to skip intros are very seldom nowadays, and it's mostly just anti-piracy shit. Again, not something that truly bothers.
Actually, for a lot of movies, you watch it once and then the next time you try to watch it, it doesn't show the intro previews. I hate that. I like to watch that beginning stuff before the movie. I was super mad when while getting ready to watch Quantum of Solace, those intro videos were playing and for some reason I missed them and then couldn't go back to watch them. I spent like 5-10 minutes trying to find a way to get back to them and never had any luck. I was not happy.
Also, like jakob187 said... it's super lame when a movie comes out with nothing extra on it, and then a few months later the special edition version with all the bonus stuff you want is released after you already bought it. That's shady.

Actually I don't want any extras on my DVD's, I just want the films. I never look at the special features, and therefore if I can get the DVD release sooner because I don't want pointless extras then thats great. Other people might like special features but it's not unfair to assume that you should wait for that to be added.
YOU KNOW WHAT'S BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULSHIT! DVD's

If you don't like them getting scratched up or beaten to death, maybe you all should take better care of your dvd's. Putting them back in there cases so the back doesn't get scratched is usually a good start.

Unskippable intros aren't that common anymore - most of them time there's a way to bypass it. The nicest ones let you hit the menu button. Others you have to skip chapters through the previews to get to the menu. Others you can still fast forward at max speed to get to the menu in five seconds or so.
The only thing that really bothers me with DVDs is the anti-piracy commercial that pops up on some discs, especially when the people who simply copy the DVD will be stripping that out. Forcing legitimate buyers to watch that drivel is insulting.
Discs not working has never been a problem for me, and i've rented some seriously scratched discs before. The stickers aren't had to pull off and almost always come in one go unless you rip them at an odd angle.
I think it's funny to watch the trailers for movies that were released at the same time as what you are watching. Especially after years have gone by and you can see how far movies have come over the years.

Security tags are not that hard to take off. You must have the hand dexterity of a moth."

I hate theose security tags also, HMV are the fucking worst, they stick on some big dirty thick sticker that requires a blade, When all you wanna do is play a game or film straight away.
" D_SkinI picked up a D Skin once thinking I would put them on my games when I lend them to my friends. Well after testing them I became more worried that they might actually break the DVD player or game system. Seemed to make the disc a little more thicker and didn't seem that great in the end. How has your experience been with them?
