That's right, what if we're already here?
What if this is hell?

honestly we just don't give a damn unless something terrible happens to us or to the people in our circles.

Why is suffering necessarily bad? Suffering is feeling and sensing. In a way it also makes you feel alive, like when you hurt from love. I think suffering is an experience.
You can think it is unjust to suffer, but you'd have to understand suffering to really know the nature and justice of it.
"Go to hell, dude."
"Heh, already there!" ...this begs the question, is it better to be a king in hell, or a servant in heaven? Is hell being bad all lies? Sinning on earth can be pretty sweet.

Then, it's not so bad.

The current view of the Church is that heaven and hell are states of mind. So some of us can be there.
Really? Then what does one obtain (assumably 'heaven') after death when the mind ceases to operate?
Yeah, it's called being human. If the people who were poor, hungry, homeless weren't would they care if we were poor, hungry, homeless? Of course not.War, famine, pestilence, death... all accounted for

What if the moon was made of spare ribs, would you eat it?
hahaha, oh but for the days when Will Farrell was making good comedy.
Anyway, this question is stupid. and what's worse is i think you know it's stupid. it's one of those questions that people who want to seem "deep" ask because they're just really really really not interesting at all as people. but beyond that, it's stupid because it's completely meaningless. what precisely is hell? can you quantify it? i would posit that whatever i ask you to place within the context of hell can be reasonably described as hell by your merits. hell is a fairy tale, it's a mythical place whose description, context and severity of suffering as a punitive measure are entirely up in the air and open for interpretation.
if you truly do believe that we could be living in hell right now, i'd advise you to get a little perspective. we live in a utopia compared to what the world was like just 1000 years ago. 1000 years is nothing. it's less than the blink of an eye in the context of life on earth and a joke in the context of the universe. the concept of hell has been around for about 4,000-10,000 years in one form or another. it serves as nothing more than a kind of punitive cautionary tale. "if you're bad, you'll go to a bad place. so don't be an ass hole or else."
the universe is big, and old, like, 13,400,000,000 years old by most educated guesses. our sun hasn't been around for a third of that. our planet hasn't been around for a tenth of that, and life on this planet hasn't been around for a one millionth of that. humans haven't been around for a reasonable numerical fraction of that, and the concept of hell, well, you get the picture.
asking deep questions is fun, but ones like this are silly, and lame, and emo. if you'd like to cut yourself and cry about all the starving little children, that's your business. if you'd like to do something about the starving little children, i commend you, and if you'd like to get the slightest bit of long form perspective, well, i require it of you.
She looks like heaven....
....Maybe this is Hell....
She said she'd do it all again she PROMISED NOT TO TELL!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is now a ska thread.

Actually, it's more like a faceship.
I was looking forward to Hell ......... so if we are already there, what the hell do I have to look forward ?

Which church? I don't pay attention to any of them.

Suffering can drive you to end your existance..well here on earth.
God suppossedly gave us free will. This present is of our collective making and our personal experience, especially when on the personal you are making choices as you can partially dictated by your own brain chemical make-up. So everything from chemistry to concepts of pure thought have made our reality. I could see unfortunately why it may be a true hell for some inner and outer, a subjective hell for others.
Personally in my life I have passed from hell to a pretty damned relative pleasant state of purgatory. Things arn't right like I'd like them, but they arn't all bad by any means..I'm having a decent time.
I fear for the world, though.

Yep it can. Still how many times did we feel alive when we suffered a loss, be it at love or something else?
