What kind of music do you like?

I like mostly old or underground hip hop/rap. I like very few rock songs.

How about the people of Giantbomb?

I listen to more new/mainstream stuff.  Chamillionaire, Nelly, Jay-Z, Nas, Bun B, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Gemstones, Bone Thugs, T.I., Ludacris are a few favorites.

I have some old stuff too, Pac, Biggie, Tribe Called Quest and such.

Hard rock, grunge and metal.

Thrash metal is my favourite, though I like most genres from gangsta rap to black metal.

My favourite is Hip Hop though.

I have always had a soft spot for classical music (I play the cello). I also like lots of miscellaneous rock (I love Queen), but I absolutely hate the heavy stuff or anything with screaming.
Edit: Oh yes, I really hate country music too.

I like basically everything except country.

I'm into the arty indie type stuff.  One might venture to call me a hipster based on my musical taste, and they'd be right about the musical taste part, but way off base with the douchey hipster attitude part.  However, I really love anything with strong percussion, that doesn't mean hardcore constant double bass bashing mind you, just something with a very strong beat.      

OH! and jazz of course, especially free jazz and afrobeat.  Anything by Mingus, Miles Davis (fusion period), and of course the master of the afrobeat Fela Kuti (two of his more accessible tracks, Zombie and Sorrow, Tears, and Blood, can be heard on the Funk station in GTA IV) .

Many different types of Metal. I also like Jrock and Jpop.

Basically anything except heavy metal and country.

Alternative and some punk rock are my favorite genres but I do enjoy some progressive rock (The Mars Volta).

Ahh, the Journey of Musical taste. When ReTarDedFisHy was young, he was really into the kiddie Pop songs. When he grew up a little he started to like Nu Metal, despite his young age. After a while he actually started to get into Hip Hop and Rap, this lasted quite a while, until he picked up his first guitar (forcibly put upon him by MommA FisH and PoppA FisH) where he started to play classic and blues material. He then moved onto playing and listening to Alternative/Punk/AlternRock. However, after a couple years of playing un-awesome, simple and iffy riffs, he finally found salvation listening to Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold. It was then he started to play all crazy-like. The sound of Heavy Metal was so satisfying he started to listen to it, alot. Nothing was as satisfying as tearing through those notes, rather than simple, crappy power chords. Plays gigs at shows and concerts now. Hates Rap and Hip Hop, but still likes R&B.

ReTarDedFisHy likes Heavy Metal and Alternative. Favorite bands are blink-182, Breaking Benjamin and Avenged Sevenfold.
Idols are Santana and Synyster Gates.

I like a little bit from every genre and time. Im not particularly "hard core" into any one thing.

I like a lot of variations of rock, but I'm also open to other genres as well.
