Pulp Fiction. I can just watch the scene where Bruce WIllis' character walks to his apartment over and over.

Knee-jerk: Raiders of the Lost Ark

Hours of careful consideration: Raiders of the Lost Ark

#54 Edited by RayCarter (158 posts) -

Dark Knight. Completely changed the way I look at movies, especially superhero movies. Schindler's List is a very close second.

8 1/2.

Then I'd think about Stardust Memories and change my vote to Annie Hall.

Then I'd remember that Annie Hall won the best picture oscar in the same year that Star Wars came out and I'd wonder how many people were going to pick Star Wars ahead of something more awesome like Raiders of the Lost Ark or Back to the Future. Then I'd check what everyone had posted before me, become self-conscious and not post.

I know, I know.

Rushmore is always my immediate thought, so I guess Rushmore.

Chinatown. But I think it's just because I love noir/detective stories.

I dunno what it says about me, but I pulled a blank. And couldn't for the life of me remember if I liked any movies.

EDIT: My incredibly overthought answer is Forrest Gump.

To Kill a Mockingbird.

My go to answer is always Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, curiously also my knee-jerk reaction answer to favorite book.

It used to be The Dark Knight. Used to be.

Midnight Run. That's the knee-jerk response. If I thought about it longer than five seconds, I'd easily find better movies to take that place. But there's just something about Midnight Run, that no matter how many times I watch it, I'm always ready to start it right over again.

Spaceballs (see my avatar)

Big Trouble In Little China is a close second with Starship Troopers being third.

Oh, and The Fifth Element. Bio Dome. RoboCop 1 and 2. Rio Bravo.

The Dark Knight.

Knee-jerk reaction says Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Honourable mentions to The Devils Backbone, The Wrath of Khan and (for the child in me) The Iron Giant.

Lord of the Rings.

Yojimbo. I can watch that movie anytime and enjoy it.

Oldboy. Though I could've also gone with Robocop, Miller's Crossing, Hot Fuzz, Punch Drunk Love, Jacob's Ladder or Children of Men...I dunno. I guess those count as honorable mentions.
