If I have to be up early (before 8am) I like to try getting to bed at around 9:30pm, although it usually takes a while for me to get to sleep, I feel better for it the next day. and ideally i like to get to bed midnight or so if I have a day off the next day..Though i prefer night time to mornings, getting up earlier often makes the day feel longer and less wasted for me..which always makes me happy.
Often I can't peel myself away from the computer though...which can be really bad and cause me to go to bed at super late times.
How about you?
What time do you go to bed...and why?
Mostly I try for 12:00am, but I rarely manage before 1:30. I have to get up at 7:30. This sucks. Yay for undiagnosed-since-childhood sleep disorders.
(week-ends, all bets are off. Oh how I love my slept-through Saturday morning.)
In weekdays between 23-24 or so. In weekends from 24-04. I wish I could be up longer during weekdays but 7 hours of sleep is already pushing it. So I try to squeeze in as much video games in the weekends as possible which usually ends up with me waking up with my head on the keyboard.
I used to go to bed around 5 a.m. and sleep till about 11:00 a.m., but now I have to go to bed around 11:00 p.m. and get up at 4:30 a.m. on the weekdays. But those hours are for work.
Around 12-1 PM seems to be my natural cycle, before 12 I never feel tired even if I got up at 5 AM. If I nap during the day, I can't sleep until 3-4 AM, so I try to avoid that at all costs apart from a 10 min 'power nap'.
Also, the amount of caffeine intake makes a big difference so I don't drink anything with caffeine in it after 5 PM.
My GF can get to sleep within seconds and I need much longer, it always amazes me how people differ in their sleep patterns.
I usually feel pretty good when I go to bed between 12 and 1 and wake up between 8 and 9, but the world works on a "be at work at 8AM" kind of clock so sometimes I have to go to bed earlier and wake up at 6, which my body and mind really don't like. That's just not comfortable for me in any way.
It differs wildly from day to day. Since my early teens, I've always felt more comfortable being up at night so I am when I can. And too often when I really shouldn't. That said, I try to at least be in bed about 2-3 AM when I have to go to school, which is at 9 AM. When I don't have to be in school the next day, It's usually around 4-6 AM.
Weekdays is usually before 12. I usually have to wake up for work around 545 so that gives me some decent sleep. When school starts that will change slightly though. On weekends though I'm now an early riser so now i may go to bed at 12 or 1 and wake up at 7 or 8 to enjoy the morning. Personally I prefer the morning over any time of the day
11 pm-12 am. I only go to bed so "early" though because I have to watch my daughter during the day. I'm very much a nocturnal person so I haven't really enjoyed the change too much.
They say you should go to sleep whe nthe sun goes down. I like it when I'm tired by 11:00. I usually wake up with the sun.
Midnight and I like to wake up around 8am - 9am. None of it is set in stone, but those are the general times that I shoot for.
My current shift at work is 7:30am-4:30pm so I have to be up at 5:30 am every day to get to work in time. I tend to go to bed at around 10:00pm-11:00pm as it takes me a few hours to fall asleep. It's rather frustrating as I spend from about noon onward dead tired, but as soon as 9pm-10pm rolls around I'm suddenly wide awake again and can't get to sleep which perpetuates this endless cycles of a lack of sleep. The benefit to that early of a shift though is that it's dead that early in the mornings most days. It usually doesn't pick up until after my lunch break around 11am-12pm, so it's almost like getting paid to work full time for only part time. Sadly that last half of the shift is always super busy and really draining.
I'm hoping to get off the phones at work and get put on the email department, and once that is done I'm set. Emails are the best area to be in because you just work at your own pace and you don't have to deal with annoying people on the phones any more. It pays the same and technically has worse hours by most standards -usually a 5:00pm-2:00am with working the weekends- but I'm a hermit so the late hours don't bother me.
When I don't have to be anywhere and have all the free time in the world -ie. unemployment- I tend to stay up until 4am-5am and sleep until 12pm-1pm. That is my preferred sleeping schedule.
12-1, but not by choice. I wish I were able to go to bed earlier, but I usually have to watch a favorite Youtube video, favorite movie, or podcast so that I can fall asleep and I need headphones for that but I hate falling asleep with headphones since I apparently violently dance in my sleep and I wake up with the headphones being tugged on in some way. I've been trying to just fall asleep regularly, but I've so far just been getting really tired around 12-1 am
Between 2-4 am because it's definitely summer and I'm a lazy jerk. When I'm at college, it's more of a 1-3-leaning-towards-1 thing.
