haven't seen in a long time and i put this up on screened and got no reply so can my friends at GB help me out?
whats a good horror movie?
Paranormal Activity was good in my book, though some of my friends called it "boring and retarded."
The Devil's Rejects is underrated and you might like it. This is the a movie where Rob Zombie proved he could direct. Of course he then went on to direct more movies blowing that theory out of the water.

"yeah I personally didn't like PA don't see the appeal nothing happend ;3
anyway Texas chainsaw masscare 03 was one of the best remake horrors I have seen to date.
Are you looking for a movie with good horror, or a horror movie that's a good movie?
If it's the former, The Grudge scared the shit out of me. Horror movies generally don't scare me, but man, that Japanese kid...
If it's the latter, Dawn of the Dead, Alien and the first Saw are pretty great.
THANK YOU!!! This guy has the right idea! TCM 03 topped the original, and then some. As for others? Well the recent Nightmare on Elm Street re-make was great in my opinion. If you don't want a slasher movie than may I suggest Paranormal Activity as others have, along with the Spanish film [REC], and The Descent. The Descent is fucking awesome. Criminally overlooked film.anyway Texas chainsaw masscare 03 was one of the best remake horrors I have seen to date. "
The original Nightmare on Elm Street which is still a really scary film today, the sequels eventually turn silly but the first one is alot more serious as the others turn more to slapstick comedy and one liners.
Both Dawn of the dead and the remake of it are really awesome movies with great action and horror scenes.
IMDB have their own list, but I'm not too sure about it:
http://www.imdb.com/chart/horror
It has got The Shining listed though, and I thought that was an awesome film.

If this is the film I'm thinking of then yeah, it's a good one!" The Descent. Best horror film in years. "
Ju-On: The Grudge.
First time I watched it I was alone at night. I couldn't sleep afterwards for 2 months.
Amazon recommended to me the Liverpool FC review of the season, I suspect thats fairly horrifying viewing ;-)
" @Abyssfull said:Uhg, The Happening was boring and awful. I've only seen 28 Days Later, but I hear it's a better movie. It's an awesome movie." @Xolare said:
" Event Horizon. Cause it's on screened mother fucka! "It's a good movie regardless for me. Sam Niel plays a surprisingly effective villian O.O "
Other cool ones are:
- The Happening
- 28 weeks later
"
There ain't no good horror movies. Except Evil Dead of course, if that can even qualify as a horror film.
Well, there are the 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later movies. I guess they are horror movies but I don't really look at them that way. Anyways, those are good.
It's kind of a horror comedy, but check out Re-Animator (1985). TRAILER
If you asked me, and I was in the right mood, I'd tell you that the original Last House on the Left is the best horror movie.
I wouldn't call it scary (although it is), but it's horror, through and through. It's not bumps in your closet at night, but it doesn't fuck around, either.
If it makes it any more appealing, the original time I tried to watch the movie, I became too uncomfortable and had to shot it off, an hour in.
Why, Mr.Bucket, of course.
dumplings- a japenese horror movie about a female abortion doctor that makes dumplings that give you back your youth. there made out of...well its pretty easy to guess
hmm iam gonna check The Descent out, thanks for the recommendation!" @BlackJedi said:

Seconding The Decent.
Hatchet - More of a horror comedy but I enjoyed it.
House of the Devil - Slow but worth the wait.
Cabin Fever 2 - I only recommend this movie if you aren't squeamish and liked the first one.
Wrong Turn 2 - Not the greatest horror movie but it is worth it just to see Henry Rollins kick mutant hillbilly ass.
The Devils Rejects - The best movie Rob Zombie ever did is not that much of a compliment but it captures the 70's exploitation vibe perfectly
Trick r' Treat - Quite possible the best Made for DVD movie ever released.
" Sex in the City 2 is utterly terrifying to the average straight man I'm told. "Actually I took my cousin and as a straight dude who had previously never seen the show or the first movie I have no problem admitting I didn't hate the movie and there were some laughs to be had from it. In saying that though I wouldn't recommend it, it's definitely view only with your lady or female family I guess but I wouldn't hate on it too much. The Thing always gets a lot of love around these parts and for good reason. You should watch that among many other great horror flicks.
" The Descent. Best horror film in years. "Yeah that shit was far more scary than I thought it would be, put me off caves :)
" haven't seen in a long time and i put this up on screened and got no reply so can my friends at GB help me out? "Saw (it's better than people assume, trust me)
Dead Space (oh wait that;s a video game)
Quarantine (is prolly the closest thing to a realistic zombie movie that will ever exist)
The Ring (is one of this decades greatest movies)
Brokeback Mountain (I was screaming in terror the whole time)
Quarantine is [REC] but in english. Don't recommend [REC] unless you want the person to suffer from translation frustration" Event HorizonThe Fourth Kind The Others The Descent[REC] Signs Evil Dead 1 & 2 Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County The Blair Witch Project The Exorcist The Sixth Sense The Village "
